Yes that is always the argument whenever Rossi gets the short end of the stick. Fact is whenever there is more responsibility to be handed out he gets less and less of it. But this has been discussed several times now. I do not see Rossi's situation changing anytime soon. Can't really ask much more from Rossi and hope he earns the confidence of the coaching staff. It is what it is and when the team is winning the coach is right.

He actually produced with just about anyone, see last year. This narrative doesn't hold up at all. Actually he is even producing this year the few times he has been thrown somewhere else than the first line. But this is not entirely about Rossi but the team doing what is best to win. Putting him on the third line when you are missing 2 top 6 forwards isn't it.

Or maybe he's playing them to try and get them going. If Rossi can produce with anyone it's a win win as he can get Trenin and Foligno to chip in offensively and then free up Gaudreau and Johansson to work in the lines and chip in there offensively and spread out the offense.

Normally I'm in favor of giving a change more than 2 periods before judging it, but those two periods were extremely bad. Even a large improvement might not be enough.

That's why they dropped Ohgren and Milne. It's going to take a few more games to get them going.

Imagine last year when they put Eriksson Ek with Kaprizov and Boldy, if they had instead put Eriksson Ek back with Foligno on the third line because they wanted to get Foligno going

Hartman has chemistry already with Kaprizov and has produced with him before, plus he adds a physical dimension to that line. Gaudreau also had had some success with offensive players before.

Gaudreau and Johansson and Trenin and Foligno aren't really producing at the moment and it is best to split them all up to try and get them working again.

Gaudreau and Johansson (who had a lot of success with Boldy in the past) on the second
Trenin with Rossi and Foligno. Rossi adds a bit of offense to a naturally defensive line and he has two heavy guys that can protect him.

Makes perfect sense to me.

Hynes lines confused me ...well the top 6 last night.

Ohgren - Hartman - Kaprizov
Johansson - Gaudreau - Boldy
Foligno - Rossi - Trenin
Lauko - Kus - Milne

That should have been the grouping.

Actually the lines don't bother me as much anymore. The second line is the most odd ball but the other three don't bother me.

Kaprizov - Boldy - Johansson makes sense
Ohgren -Gaudreau - Hartman doesn't make as much sense as Ohgren seems to be the odd one out here and probably could play with a more offensive player.
Foligno - Rossi - Trenin makes sense
Lauko - Kus - Milne who cares?

Honestly swapping Hartman for Boldy and Johansson with Ohgren makes the most sense here.
