It's not even just the money but all that shenanigans with the media and crying about arbitration. How much did that all effect the team coming into the season. It shouldn't but looks like it may have.
I agree, the team said it wasn't a problem, but I think it was, but it isn't the only thing that has affected this teams performance. Just my opinion.

Still taking Sway over Vasi who I heard was declining?
I'd take the Lightning roster over the Bruins, since you know, that impacts the goalie quite a bit. For example, the TBL are 7th in gf per game with 3.56. Boston? 27th with 2.47. TBL also is 9th in GA per game with 2.81 while Boston is 24th with 3.37.

I mean it's a team game and one team is in the top 10 for both goals scored and goals allowed and the other is in the bottom 10 for both of those.

Sure but korpisalo shouldn't be performing stat wise better than sway. Sway could heat up in December but he's overpaid by 4 million aav thus far. Tampa also spent wisely on guentzal

Is he though? When you account for quality of opponent, I don't really believe he is. It's pretty much bad all around because the team is trash

So the Swayman negotiations are why the Bruins still aren’t good this year? To me it’s obviously systems, coaching and buy in. Swayman needs to be way better and is overpaid this season even if he was playing awesome, but he has no affect on the previously stuff.

Swayman was paid amongst the best goalies in the league to be a number one and face harder opponents. We’re almost at a point where Korpisalo is getting half the starts because we hedged our bets on the best backup goalie in the league. They’re both facing the quality of opponents they’re paid to and one is severely underperforming while the other is exceeding expectations when you factor in the rest of the team. Swayman wrote a check his tush hasn’t been able to cash so far.

Sweeney wrote the check.
I typically dont get upset over what a player makes. That’s the GMs decision to live with.
Sweeney deserves some of the blame. Maybe he should have held out. He definitely should have looked at the market for Swayman before trading Ullmark. Lots of blame to go around but Swayman’s camp backed them into a corner with Korpisalo potentially being the Bruins starter. He called his shot and now he has the expectations of a goalie that’s getting paid $8.25M a year.

You and I will just disagree . Sweeney had all the leverage and handed it over. Even after nobody held a gun to his head to do the final deal.
