Well it looks like the wild have just signed him to a 2 year contract

It’s an interesting situation, right now he is behind Gus (2 years to UFA and current trade candidate) Fleury (last season before retirement) and Wallstedt (projected long term starter.)

There is no one behind him in the system, if he shows reasonably well, he likely sees at least some NHL time in the next two seasons.

Having to play behind Iowa will be its own challenge, team was filled with rookie D men last year and it showed, should be some improvement through experience, but most of MN’s young forward talent is elsewhere so he won’t get run support. If he makes the big leagues though, it’s a cushy role on a defensive stalwart.
