I'll be interested to see what the rule here is.

Usually the rule is that if you are drafted out of the CHL, and the club that owns your rights is a CHL club, you have to wait until the season that you turn 20 by December 31 to play in the NA minors. But I can't remember a situation where a player wasn't drafted their first draft-eligible season, they will be drafted their second draft eligible season, and they are anywhere near good enough that the NHL team that drafted them wants to consider placing them in the NA Minors. I doubt it actually gets to that point. I suspect Hlavaj will play another year in the QMJHL.

Anyone in Slovakia watched him? Looks like he struggle in division 2, but he has great stats in division 1

Jocelyn Thibault which is now President of Hockey Québec really really liked him, said he's a surefire NHLer.

His team in Slovakia 2 is mostly a u18 and u20 team, I wouldn’t put much merit in those. However he is still fairly young, could carve out to a nice starter one day in Liiga or SHL

Perhaps the 7th Slovak drafted in 2022: Currently I am betting on Nemec, Slafkovsky, Mesar, Sykora, Viliam Kmec and Petrovsky. I have already seen Ilya Konovalov drafted at 21 in the 3rd round. I see very few goalies born in 2004 who have shown enough to be drafted. He was 124th in my 2020 ranking at 19. A selection in 2022 will go through a full year in the top Slovak league.

I couldn't find a thread on him. He had one hell of a game against Canada with 43 saves at the WC. Was the goalkeeper for Slovakia this year in a row between 2019 and 2021 at the WJC. Went undrafted even though he had decent stats everywhere except in the USHL 1 year.

Was invited to the Coyotes camp in 2021.

Will he get a contract? Still only 21 year old.

Is there a reason he was limited to 24 games this past season?

Injury?
He was way worse than Slovan's starting goalie and that was the case for 2nd year in a row. Which, to be fair, isn't a big deal at age 21, Coreau is a legitimately good goalie and was close to a full-time NHLer at one point. He had quite a few bad seasons after, for whatever reason, but overall he is really good by the Euro-league standard.

Going back to Hlavaj, objectively, he blew every club season he had so far. The fact that Plzen still signed him is down to his junior-day pedigree, can only describe his career so far as failing upwards. For sure he has potential but at some point, he has to start putting it together for more than 5 games at a time. Which, again, would be nothing unusual for most goalies his age but a bit disappointing for one that started playing for Slovakian U20 NT at 17. If he does indeed start performing well in the Czech league in the upcoming few years NHL contract is not out of the question but to me, that's a big if. Considering his results of the past few seasons he would be a barely passable AHL goalie at this point. And yes, I understand he had a really good game against Canada as a junior and is having a pretty damn solid WC campaign.

P.S. There must have been an old thread for him somewhere.
