Oh come on!!
Somebody find me pictures of Wolf in Sharks pajamas! If you guys won't give our boy back to us we may have to resort to the Tavares method :naughty::naughty:

Adam Fox left us because he only wanted to play for his precious Rangers.
Johnny Gaudreau left us because his wife wanted their kid to grow up in the States.
Matthew Tkachuk left us for golfcarts, jetskis, and flip flops.

If Dustin Wolf leaves us because he loves the San Jose freaking Sharks of all teams man, I just don't think I'd be having fun anymore.

if it's any consolation, Jay Woodcroft really loved the tacos in San Jose and Bakersfield but he eventually was convinced to take the job in Edmonton. hmm maybe the taco game has gotten a lot better in Alberta and maybe that'll be enough for Wolf too :sarcasm:

To add to how impressive his AHL MVP season was, he’s the first goalie to win the award in 19 seasons AND the youngest player to win the award since Jason Spezza 18 seasons ago.

Add them together, and you get the second youngest goalie ever to win the award in AHL history, and the youngest since 1981.

I haven't caught any playoff games, how has he looked?

Flames fans, with Sutter and Treliving gone, surely he will be up with the Flames next year? I know that one of Vladar or Markstrom will have to be moved in order to make space, but curious of your thoughts here.

“I am so not having a good time man”

Ranked as the 4th best drafted goalie prospect by Scott Wheeler on The Athletic.

I have a lot of respect for Scott and the tremendous amount of work he puts into scouting and such, but I can't help but feel as though Wolf is still super underrated. I know these lists don't mean anything, but don't understand how the back to back AHL Goalie of the Year and defending AHL MVP is not ranked higher, especially with Levi ahead of him. Nothing against any of the other goalies, just feels like Wolf is still underrated.

It's really just his height at this point.

Goalies are just in general hard to project. I agree wolf in underrated but I also don’t blame anyone for having other prospects ahead of him for various reasons(if you prefer wallstedts success at his age or Askarovs athleticism and find it more projectable for example) goalie rankings are just in general for more useless than ranking players

I'm rooting for DW!
When you think about it .. the greatest goalies of all time in the NHL haven't been predominately of the tall variety. Brodeur, Sawchuck, Esposito, Vachon etc are all below 6' pretty much.
Save for Roy and Dryden and now Vasy being over 6" and Hasek was barely 6'
I get it .. the new NHL goalies are all at least 6.2 but more and more are plus 6.4.
Still I am all for a goalie of a smaller stature carving out a successful NHL career!

I think my brain is making up things. I swear there was a story where the Flames management looked into the stands, saw Wolf and his entourage and said, "We gotta draft that kid."

When I go and read the articles in the Athletic (go to article, ctrl + A and copy to word pad before the pop up shows up) and whatever, it hints the Flames scouts held him in high regard almost like a wild card in the Gaudreau/Kucherov draft (hard to find the reference for that article too), but instead of splitting a 5 rounder in a 5/6, the drafted in the 5th, then just sat slack jawed and scouts started calling each other in an excited panic + running around looking for a jersey because they realized they were going to get a player they really loved in the 7th round?

I'm glad they got Wolf, but those draft stories sound sorta weird. If they held him in high regard, what was the plan? Invite him to camp and try again the season afterwards? I don't get it.

As a Flames fan, gotta be cautiously optimistic to ensure we don't break our goalie prospect... but I am excited for Wolf as well as a few other intriguing prospects.

Not even top 3 according to HFBoards
Only because he’s not 6’4. If he was, he’d be touted as a generational prospect.

I can’t remember the last time a goalie prospect was so dominant for so long through his career. Crazy. I was vocal about him slipping to the 7th round but no way could any of us predict him to rip up the AHL like he did.

I think he’s the top goalie prospect without a doubt.
