It's not been good. As many (@57special ) have already said... if he's not scoring the PP... I'm not sure he's very valuable in the lineup

For the most part he's no worse than any other bottom pair defenseman, and the positives he can bring are more than most bottom pair guys can say.

He's playing in a bottom pair role, so no sweat. If he was being asked to play 23 minutes a night shutting down other teams top players, then he's a problem. But in the role he's in, not really a concern for me. You don't expect your bottom pair guys to be perfect.
Merrill makes just as many goofs, if not more, and his name almost never comes up. It's just expectations.
