Doing his best Michael Jordan impression, but without the track record of success.
Jordan got his first ring when he was 28. Guess who will be 28 this season…
Doing his best Michael Jordan impression, but without the track record of success.
Yeah, it has to be Crosby. We both know that we going to happen regardless lol
Yes. That’s why after that game and tirade and being down 0-3, he and the team tied the series and went to the seventh game of the SCF. Oh and he won the Conn Smythe as the MVP.
Happened to Patrick Ewing in the NBA
Can you link to this? I tried to find it but couldn’t.
It's like what a person that can't show emotions and is essentially a robot thinks showing emotions is about. Quite disturbing. This looks like some dude who is yelling for the first time in his life.
“Am I doing this right”
Good for McDavid!
One of the best indicators of leadership is what a group does, and the Oilers came back from down 3-0 in the series to force game seven and lost it 2-1. This was after game 2, so it's not some big winning speech, but it's a good look into McDavid's leadership as a whole. Leadership which deserves criticism for going down 3-0, but praise for getting to the finals and then holding on through the comeback.
This may not be the most quotable or inspirational speech of all time of all time, nor have the touch of destiny that the truly great speeches do, but you bet your bottom dollar that this is what most of them actually sound like. Calling out his team, calling on them to give it their all, and showing that he as the leader they all look up to is fired up. It wasn't cup winning leadership, but it was still great.
It was Charles Oakley in 1993 on the back cover of the NY Post. But Oakley made the rounds again a few years back saying the same sort of things. Can you link to this? I tried to find it but couldn’t.
You should be terrified of that, Bigfoot is all too real my friend
McDavid fired up.Mcdavid backed up the crazy display dropping 8 pts in games 4 and 5 wins
Usually these type of speeches are done by a washed up vet who is trying to get the team energized and gove it one last go
The best player in the world giving one was a different perspective.
Oilers were very close, and are a top contender again this year. Mcdavid will likely have similar mentality this year and try to get the cup.
I’m pretty sure he’s ok with that. That settles it. Crosby will wear the C in the 4 nations and olympics. Connor not ready
You don’t think Crosby has done the same exact thing about 20 times in his career? You’re nuts if you don’t.Hopefully Crosby shows mcdavid how to lead and win in the coming tournaments. Should be a good lesson for connor
Lol, at the same age, MJ had never even made the finals and was considered a showboating choke artist who a team would never win with.Doing his best Michael Jordan impression, but without the track record of success.
honestly I have thought that for years all the young and talented players coming into the league really missed out on learning from the leagues established leaders and top end guys with the players not being allowed to go to the Olympics. You can only be as good as a leader through experience, and if you're a young rebuilding team you do lack solid vets and leadership skills until you learnHopefully Crosby shows mcdavid how to lead and win in the coming tournaments. Should be a good lesson for connor
If he can get 49 playoff points in one season he can beat Matthews playoff career point total
My post: "This was after game 2"Why is this misinformation out there?
It was after Game #2, people trying to make it seem like his rant worked when it clearly didn't and they lost Game #3.
McDavid believes raw emotion shown in Amazon docuseries will make for excellent viewing
Although his insight and willingness to let fans in has grown considerably over the past couple of seasons, the clip revealed in the Amazon trailer provides a whole new window into Connor McDavid.www.sportsnet.ca
"It featured Connor McDavid in the Edmonton Oilers dressing room after Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final in Florida. Edmonton had lost 4-1, and the Oilers were down two games to none in a series they would eventually lose in seven games."
Why? Swayman sure has “dug in” to his demands, maybe a good teammate for McDavidWell the bruins can cross the oilers off their trade list for swayman. Dude would be curled up in a ball crying in the corner.
Hopefully Crosby shows mcdavid how to lead and win in the coming tournaments. Should be a good lesson for connor
