Nice win. I'm putting my dog of 16 1/2 years to sleep tomorrow so the Oilers pulling this out gave me a little happiness before the devastation that tomorrow is going to bring so thanks for this Oilers. Have a good night HFOil
Having did that to my cat last year just know you're doing the right thing. It still hurts but I always remind myself that not doing it would've been worse.

Hyman has like 10 goals since being left off Team Canada I think lol
Credit to the team for giving him time to heal up, because it seems like he needed it. Now if only that happens with Arvidsson as well.

Imagine if Leon hadn't signed his extension yet put up these numbers. He'd be making more on the open market. That number he signed for is actually looking like a hometown discount.
There is potential for the bargain to be almost as good as his current one. He seems like the kind of player that ages well. The capnis accelerating. Maybe in three or for years the superstars make 18-20 million aav

Even better when your goalie is playing good. Which has been about 10ish games lately. And if he goes back to average, welp atleast we are paying him below average.
The problem is he isn’t usually average.

He’s usually way below average or above average

The Panthers game was maybe the first time I ever worried about Ekholms game.

But nice to see him put that worry to test tonight.

Hey everyone has a stinker, even Viking Warriors.

I know people critique KK loading up McDrai/Hyman but Bruins had just no answer to it. Resembled a PP anytime they were on ice. Bruins couldn't cope with this line and we were getting all kinds of scoring chances. bruins had first period then we just stormed the rest of the way.

Didn't think any of the other lines did much though. But for this game it seemed to work out loading up. Also with the score the Oilers had to start bending the Bruins and McDrai did in spades. Still laughing at Pasta turning puck over in NZ with two mins left and a lead, jumps off the ice and watches the Oilers tie the game on his brutal play. lol. You ain't winning nothing playing like that. Did the same thing in OT. Bruins star players were their worst players tonight.

Probably not. That extra year the Oilers could offer makes a big difference. Others teams would have to pay him over 17 million per year to beat the total the Oilers gave him. As good as Draisaitl is, I don’t think anybody is giving him that much.

So - I'm normally not into the sports gambling thing but like - oddsmakers currently have Draisaitl winning the Art Ross at 20:1 and the Hart at 25:1.

I can't help but feel like that's easy money.

I feel like worst case you cash out a couple of months from now and double or triple your money.

I’m very sorry to hear that. That’s a very personal loss and I sincerely feel for you. A good dog is one of the best gifts a man can have in life and I’m sure you held up your end of the bargain and gave him a great life to thank him. We share your pain, brother.

About slightly below average if we go off his save percentage. Atleast he’s appropriately paid. And I don’t think the story of his development is over.

My issue is when he starts a game with them usually. If McDrai is used situationally, like Ozone faceoffs, after a PK or late in a game to get offence going, it's a powerful weapon. Just not a long term one, imo.

Ekholm is such a beast.

My friend ski races with his wife and when they met they were like "oh, what does your husband do?" And Mrs. Ekholm was like "he's involved in hockey."

Like no bragging. No ego. They were friends for 2 months before my friend knew that this blonde lady with an accent was married to Ekholm haha

They love Edmonton. They love winter. This guy has been the biggest beauty add to this team and city in a decade or more.
Great post my man. I just love Ekholm. Pretty much matches what I think about him, and I guess his wife is like that too. Unassuming but just a giant on ice literally and in the way he plays the game and stabilizes our D. He was the d we were looking for for years. Still saddens me somewhat that we threw Hall away for far less of a D. Ekholm is the real deal and his offensive upside, well, it just it adds gravy to the meatballs.

On this team in terms of impact its McD, Drai, Ekholm.
