Why target forwards at all? That defense needs a piece desperately.

As much as I’d love stamkos, I think the prudent play is duchene at the team friendly deal and Roy. If that’s even still on the table

Should have just went with Duchene, a top D, and some depth pieces.

On the other hand, Nill isn't that stupid, our biggest need is a top 4 RHD, so getting one of those bigger name forwards means Faksa is probably shown the door, especially with Steel locked up now.

Duchene+Faksa contracts would probably just about equal what your giving Stamkos/Marchessault so it works out that way, then you still have some flexibility for a big named D.

A random surprise would be nice today though.
