Yeah not interested at 8mil x 4. At least he is out west.
Uhhh, wasn’t he like 4th on our team in points? Where are we gonna make that up from?Great news.
I think you are wildly underselling him. He was one of the best defensive dmen in the league last yr and has even a little offense to offer. He would be absolutely perfect for Ed's developement.who else do we want. Roy and call it a season? seems very mid
Berggren, apparently.Uhhh, wasn’t he like 4th on our team in points? Where are we gonna make that up from?
Yes, pretty much.If Yzerman would’ve given Stamkos what he’s supposedly getting in Nashville, everyone would be complaining. I never would’ve gon $8 million over 4 years.
This is Canada Day. The money we’re hearing for Monahan is stupid too. $5 million over 5 years. His injuries could flare up at any moment.
You can’t win with some fans. I swear half the people who post comments on the internet are just unhappy human beings, who have to let it out somewhere, so they pick a computer/phone screen.
And you're right as 4x8 would have been too much... but my god, I just wanted to see Stamkos in Detroit. If Yzerman would’ve given Stamkos what he’s supposedly getting in Nashville, everyone would be complaining. I never would’ve gon $8 million over 4 years.

Well at least that will be a way of admitting for Steve that we don’t plan to make the play offs. Now we're gonna sign Jack Campbell, David Perron and a couple plugs and call up Jonatan Berggren for good. And somehow use up all our cap space.
I don't know why I ever get excited for this.
Nah, he'll age just fine. In a vacuum I don't mind the deal, I just don't think it works for Detroit. That contract for 34 year old stamkos is awful. I could see his production falling off a cliff in 2 years. Too much term and too much money.
I don't understand where people think this cap issue is coming from. In 3 years, all of the following players will be gone:That sounds like robbing Peter to pay Paul. You want the instant gratification of 34 year-old Stamkos while ignoring what impact his cap hit will have on this team when we approach our competitive window three years from now. Stamkos will fall off of a cliff at some point. My guess is that it occurs during the next four years (like most players). He improves us during the short term, but makes us worse when we really need him to make us better.
Did we learn nothing about older players during the Holland years?
Good, the sooner that slew-footing scumbag is washed up, the better! There’s a reason the Hurricane are letting Pesce walk. He’s already showing signs of wearing down some.
