I mean, it depends. I’ll judge the win now on the players aquired rather than salary. You’re right, they are probably one and the same. But theoretically (lol) he could get a top 6 legit scorer still in the last year of a good contract or something
That's why I qualified it as they would likely have huge roster issues if they are that far under the cap.

I doubt Adams gives up the futures to get a legit top 6 guy on a good contract.

Not gonna lie, it will be extremely frustrating if they enter the season $8-10M under the cap, and with huge issues on the roster, in what Adams and Lindy both talked about being an off season where the club was in "Win Now mode".

Especially if they enter the season once again as one of the youngest and least experienced rosters in the NHL.
If we start the season like this, Adams is officially done.

The start of Adams down fall was last summer...

You came off a season where your team was a point away from making the playoffs.

Players around the league were rumored to be taking Buffalo off there no trade list and instead of adding talent and striking while the iron was hot, you brought practically the same team back and it completely backfired.

Now were back to being a destination no player wants to come to.

Unofficially done haha. It’ll take a year to fire him.

I really don’t care where they are in relation to the cap. I’m more concerned with the team the do or don’t build.
I care about where they are in relation to the cap. If they don’t use the cap space the one year buying Skinner out creates meaningful cap space, then they created a long term liability for nothing.

Absolutely.

Last year, I felt it was time for Adams to "play out of character" and push for a "Win Now" offseason.

He chose to run it back with the guys in the room and it blew up in his face.

Adams can complain about it being hard to get stuff done this offseason. But, it is a mess of his own making by not being more aggressive last summer.

Me enduring the frigid end of Sabres fandom. Who's going to be around to share my whiskey bottle?

He and Dahlin were great together at the U20's in consecutive years. He's been good for the Sens down their lineup since Smith got out of the way. I'd love that as a replacement for Bryson.

Agreed. But getting it of Ottawa to go to Buffalo is seriously out of the frying pan and into the fire….we can’t wish that upon the kid’s mental health
