The fact that that contract is economically viable blows my mind. So much money being thrown around in sports. It's just insane.

Hope this isn't too political, but imagine if all that money was donated to cancer research?

Wizards are offering John Wall $170M over 4 years. Astonishing. Part of that is the small roster size on the NHL.

My guess would be they didn't like the terms on the goalies this year. Got Pavelec in at a low cap hit for a year and can check the market next year for another Raanta or Talbot if one of the prospects isn't ready.

Times have changed. Used to go to a game for $12. Now a similar seat is $120. As long as people pay these crazy prices for tickets salaries will be crazy.
