If people want to take the approach that Brooks is full of ****, then they need to stick with it.

Oh I absolutely get that. It's just funny that people also seem to contradict themselves as to whether or not he's credible. Seems like for a lot of people he's only credible when what he's reporting is what they want to hear.

I just don't see any way Shattenkirk is waiting until 12PM to make up his mind. The deal is done at this point for most, if not all major FA's. These guys know where they want to go and if the money works, they also know.

Deal is done and I'm sure will be reported relatively quickly.

"He's leaving millions on the table to be a Ranger" = Up your offer. Look at how excited the fans are.

All of the posturing from Brooks the last few months has been about establishing the notion that the Rangers are willing to pursue a team friendly deal, or they'll go elsewhere. Now Shattenkirk's team is trying to say they are giving them a team friendly deal, even if it's not the exact numbers they want.

I'm guessing there's a 5th year in play, and the Rangers want a lower AAV if they add the extra year.

You're right--nothing is contradictory. He says Weekes is wrong. Then he says Shattenkirk is willing to leave money on the table for NYR. Then he says Shattenkirk still hasn't decided where to go. Nothing contradicts anything else there.
