Army holding a conf call soon.
Bringing Backes and Brouwer back doesn't ensure this is a WCF+ team again. Army wasn't willing to gamble 10m a year for the next 4m+ on it. I don't blame him.
There wasn't a clear path to take this offseason. I don't think this is a better team next year, but I wouldn't want last year's team either.
Taylor Hall sure would have been nice..... such a **** tease...
Today was decent. A lot hinges on the Shattenkirk trade, where we need a solid return.
Perron > Brouwer
Sobotka < Backes
Plus Fabbri's growth... eh. I don't think we really got a whole lot worse, maybe just a little. But again, offseason isn't done yet.
I'm glad we didn't get Boedker, aside from his speed I'm not a fan. Meh player.

Strickland saying Army sees the roster as "complete", which I don't really know how to take. That sounds like he's done exploring the Shattenkirk trade route, which if that's the case we are unquestionably worse than last season. Total failure of an offseason if we lose Backes and can't replace him with someone from a Shattenkirk deal.
All GM speak. He's not going to come out and admit they still need to get better or that they're seeking a trade. He wants to act like he's content and make other GMs blink first.Strickland saying Army sees the roster as "complete", which I don't really know how to take. With Perron, Hutton and Sobotka - can someone tell me where our CAP space stands right now? Thanks

for how long though. Backes is already declining in my opinion. Brouwer...eh, liked him but that would be 4 years of a whipping boy.No, it doesn't guarantee it but we are a better team with those two.
Should have known this off-season would be a dud when we gave Hitch another year and were told Jaskin was going to play a bigger role on the team.
