I quoted you and said "can confirm" haha
Yeah but your previous message said “Weegar would love to play here”. So thought that’s what you were confirming. Or maybe someone else said that. Anyway. I f***ed up. Yeah. Heard the same lol

Kinda wierd that klingberg hasn’t signed anyway.

1. Someone said he'd love to play here.
2. You said no he wouldn't love to play here.
3. I quoted you and said "can confirm".

Klingberg would be good 2 years or less. He'd be dumb to sign for 2 years or less.

So that's a stalemate.

I wouldn't say he was our best D for any games...but he did have a string of good games down the stretch.

If we don't get a D this summer, I can see the team giving him until the trade deadline to show he belongs full time. We do need to see what Brann and Lassi can do in a good 30 game stretch, sooner or later. And JBD.

He 100% was the best dman on numerous nights when Chabot was out. Sorry you can't remember.

Still kind of confusing, are you confirming what Burosaurus said or telling him you can confirm what the other guy said... It's a bit ambiguous which is why @Burrowsaurus responded the way he did.

Burrowsaurus said a thing and I said I can confirm the thing.

I don't understand how this can be confusing.

Weegar doesn't want to re-sign in Ottawa.

I thought @Bevans said #1. But someone else did
Being an insider is thankless work!

Good thing I only went to high-school with one NHLer.

Ottawa was out-scored 15-10 with Brannstrom on ice, Chabot not dressed last season. (Zaitsev was +13/-13 with Chabot out for ref.)

Puts him at +15/-21 in games where both dressed.

It's potentially confusing because your post had no subject. "Can Confirm". The reader is left to assume you are confirming what the poster you quoted claimed (even then, contextually, it's a bit odd because taken literally, you'd be confirming Burro heard different, not that Weegar doesn't want to play here), and not indicating to the person you quoted that you can confirm the initial claim to which he was responding.

If Weegar won't re-sign, there's no real point in going after him.

If Colorado is truly getting rid of Girard, what would you guys give up for him? We could obviously send them Holden in the deal to free up room and open cap space for them which is what they'll need.

Chabot Zub
Girard Hamonic
Sanderson Zaitsev
Brannstrom - Thomson

We'd still be under budget. It would open up the necessity of dumping Zaitsev next season (of this season hopefully) and could make re-signing Zub challenging. That said, Girard has experience on the right side, so it wouldn't necessarily cripple us if we lose Zub.

Thoughts?

Under no circumstances should Sanderson ever play with Zaitsev (who needs to not be on the team when the puck drops this season.)
Not interested in Girard, if that were the option I’d rather work with what we have already (with the exception of Zaitsev)
I’d overpay a bit for Connor Murphy or Larsson, they still cost a lot less than Chycrun and would perfectly fit the role we are looking to fill.

Not really sure of the value but really the point is no Grieg, Pinto, or 2023 1st. Add whatever else to make this work:
Larsson or Murphy
for
1st 2024, JBD, Wash 2nd
Zaitsev

Not what the Sens need at this point.

I'm thinking we might go after a less coveted RD option...

Larsson, C.Murphy, Matt Roy, Holl, T.Myers,

Not going to carry a pairing, but maybe just being good enough is enough

I heard the opposite. I dont blame him either, pretty wicked place he is playing. Sometimes going home isnt the best. As a single guy I dont think its all that ideal.

I got lost in that convo.
Some said weegar would love to play here. I said I heard much differently. Bevans said he could confirm what I said.

Point of it all. Weegar has voiced his displeasure at the prospect of being moved here

Alright so we have three sources now haha. Which may be why a dea sounded so close last week and then died.

Buying low on Girard would be a smart move.

Even if he's not the big defensive-oriented RD that would be ideal, he's a legit top 4 guy that is one of the most efficient puck-movers in the game that can play both sides and could probably be had for way cheaper than he would have last season as a result of this year's buyers market, Colorado's ability to sign Kadri if they off-load Girard, the complete lack of suitors able to take on his 5M cap hit without sending cap back, and a rather pedestrian season by his standards in 2021/22.

He only makes 5M for the next two years and I don't want to hear more nonsense about how his term wouldn't work because we could EASILY find a trade partner after next season or after the 2023/24 season (before his NTC kicks in) when the cap is higher and probably get more than we gave up for him. Dude's contract is a steal for what he brings to the table.

But Sens management are size queens and probably aren't even looking at him as an option.

I was under the impression I know you in real life but am now doubting myself.

I have less than zero interest in trading for Girard.

Just play brannstrom if you're in to that sorta thing
