Jokes aside we should absolutely position ourselves as "live close to your childhood home without the same toxic pressure that Montreal and Toronto afford you" for all the Ontario/Quebec players.
Which is why I suspect we were apparently in on Burns. He would get to play near home while avoiding the fish bowl of Toronto.

If that's true he picked the absolute worst time for that. Stay with Ottawa through the absolute worst years and then leave when they appear to be turning a corner.

That seems crazy to me considering the opportunity he got here that he never would have gotten anywhere else. Makes me think it's either personal or he feels like he's about to be pushed too far down in his contract season and lose out on money.

He's due for a big year if he stays with this stacked Ottawa team that's offense first. But also being on a team with McDavid and Draisatl won't hurt that eithe rlol
