He could, but it’s extremely unlikely we couldn’t craft an offer with ease that he likes better than 33 year old Nick Jensen.
I think whats sticking out is the 3rd round pick when its always the player that's what matters. If Steve Staios traded Jakob Chychrun for Nick Jensen when he had the whole league to source from, it stands to reason he REALLY likes Nick Jensen.

The season doesn't start tomorrow. Lots of time to change some seats at the table.

What seats will that be? Still need to revamp the defense and find a top winger since the butt buddies can’t be seperated. We gonna trade our top prospects? What are we trading for? We are sadly running back the same team.

Not sure if anyone is aware but the cap is going up, a lot, this and year and in years to come. These deals are not surprising at all. The money going out on UFA deals will continue to rise.

If a guy like Skjei gets 7 mill for 7, then guys like Lafreniere or Miller are gonna want a lot more too. Increase in cap doesn't help with next contracts it only helps with one's we currently have signed. The cap going up is helpful for the Panarin, Zibanejad, Kreider, trochek, Fox contracts, anything else going forward will increase with the cap.

Not surprising that no one wants our overpaid junk and with lack of cap space can you blame no one wanting to sign here. Players rather get paid by rebuilding teams than come to a playoff team.

Damn. Some of these costs are steep. 3.5 for Trenin?

Nashville going all in with Stamkos, Skjei, and Marchessault.

Washington going full make-over.

I'm almost glad we're not in on this, but Marchessault at $5.5 wouldn't have been bad
would have had to been $6.5 from NY

feels like the real makeover will be next year. drury just going to run it back next year. disappointing

We're already seeing the issues with the way Drury is handling Goodrow and Trouba. Two well respected veterans with a letter on their jersey and he has already kicked one to the curb and is working to do the same with another. It looks like nobody wants to sign here. Anyway that can't get a full NMC has to be worrying that the same will happen to them as they get older if their play falls off.

They just won the Presidents Trophy. There's no top winger to be had currently so you keep your powder dry.

None of the D contracts handed out are ones I wish the Rangers had. None of them. Chychrun there's a conversation but you also can't make Ottawa trade him here.

100% fine running back almost the same team and nibbling on edges. Obv Trouba situation will get handled and he'll get replaced by something.

Why is that? NY is one of the premier destinations in the NHL, It's time that management used it to their advantage. We shouldn't have to pay more for someone to come to one of the most vibrant cities in the world

You realize there's a way to say this without being an asshole, right?

And it's not JUST CAP SPACE. It's cap space we critically need to re-sign our players next off-season.

These deals are out of control today. They would all significantly hamstring us in future years.
lots of deals are out of control. some aren't.

Chychrun trade, for example - these mid level deals often require 2nds and 3rds that we don't have because we throw them away on rentals every deadline.

The teams that win improve on the margins come deadline, not rebuild the top f***ing line. 1RW is not a hole you fill in march.
