I think there needs to be a distinction between pitching "Wouldn't it be great if we traded Zub" vs "I wonder if Staios will move Zub because of xyz".

I have seen and been part of discussions with some of the latter, but it doesn't mean people don't accurately understand how important of a role he plays.

I don't think people want to trade Zub. I think there's major concerns about his health, durability and ability to stay in the lineup.

2022-23: missed 29 games
2023-24: missed 13 games
2024-25: missed 25 games, so far

That's a lot of time he's not in the lineup every year. I don't think anyone is under the illusion that you can guarantee yourself you find a guy who dresses every game but he's only had 1 season out of 5 so far without major health issues. Is it idiotic to wonder if you can find someone who's reliably healthier?

Zubs injury concerns are valid. It makes sense to want an upgrade but even 50 games if Zub that bring out the best in Sanderson is better than uncertainty.

This isn't like Norris where we have a serviceable player in Pinto that can step up. We don't have anyone that can fill in Zubs shoes without destroying our D. Put Jensen with Sandy and you make Chabot useless and make Hamonic a surefire for 2nd pairing minutes.

Really hope we can hit a few more homeruns in FA with random signings like Zub.

Fabbro added to our roster would be perfect. Let's us ice 3 legit D pairings and have someone that can play the 2nd pairing as Jensen ages out.
