Because none of those guys are really 1st liners, they're decent top 6 players. They're 50-60 point guys who don't worry about playing defense.
I only looked up Tuch, but he had 59 & 79 points in the last 2 years. Peterka plays on the 1st line, and Tuch certaiinly good enough that he could play on the first line. The idea that he/they doesn’t worry about playing defense is questionable as well. Tuch has 59.81 CA/60 this year, and 60.46 CA/60 last year. I think you are painting with a wide brush here and basing your ideas mostly on the fact that Buffalo is a bad team. Not sure how much, or how carefully you watch these players/team. And, on that basis, time to end the discussion.

I’d probably do Norris+Bath for EP then get someone like Donato for the wing.

This would be atrocious. If we’re concerned about Norris’ salary and red flags, why on earth would we bring in a player who makes significantly more and has even bigger red flags?

I wouldn’t touch EP. He’s going the way of Patrik Laine, and fast.

Ottawa not being a prime destination is a bit overblown.

Sure it doesn't have a night life, has high taxes, everything is closed at 6pm, nicknamed Ottberia in the winter and Saunottawa in the summer, is a sleepy town, rink gets constantly invaded, arena is a city away from the actual city but it's a great place to raise a family when you've reached 35+ years old.

Hey, it's great to raise a family at 30 or 25 too, because or despite all those things!

A 25 year old dad won't be caring about nightlife, I can assure you that!

There used to be this Shawarma place on Elgin that you had to walk downstairs to get to. It was mythical because it was run by sleazy Lebanese men who would give women free shawarmas if they allowed them to take a polaroid of their tits for their book of tits. At least, that was the story. The people who worked there in the afternoon seemed nice. That place closing was a sign that Ottawa nightlife was done with.

Gotta love the idiots that think Ottawa is boring because their isn't enough bars for them lol. So sad and pathetic.

Saying "sleazy Lebanese men" is redundant.

(I'm Lebanese, mods, pls don't ban me).

Marroush! Only went a couple of times.

Ottawa nightlife was done when I got too old to want to spend nights downtown.

You had said that we had an extension for Giroux ready to go. Could it be that they are gearing up to announce that?

Could be a nice "well no trades today but we got this" for tomorrow.
Been told the Giroux thing is still happening, just not as urgently as was conveyed to me.

Stuff I mentioned about tomorrow is hard to explain. Could be something or nothing really, just unusual for what usually happens on Trade deadline day.

Their book of tits! Sounds like a long lost religious text.
