They were talking about the entire season and being on the bubble/in the mix now.

I don’t get why you’re so hostile to our players.

I would certainly like the team to add, unfortunately they’re handcuffed by the cap.

I will lose my shit if they bring Karl back. I think he would be a fantastic fit for Sanderson. I know we don't 'need' him, but it could make for a phenomenal D-core if it works.

Money is obviously also a thing. That being the case, why are we getting so many rumors about moving out 8 million in Norris? Sure, you want to move that money. But why in the world would they want to shake up the room in the midst of a playoff push when we're right there.

The Norris smoke at this point wouldn't be to dump him. So I would think it's lateral money or close to it. Makes me think it's a big fish and Karl could be that.

Even wuith Hamilton and Siegenthaler injured they have Hughes, Pesce, Dillon, Kovacevic, Casey and Nemec.

Regardless, you simply don't trade a 2nd and a promising prospect for a bottom pairing LD rental if you aren't a legitimate cup contender, and even Devils fans don't think they are one this year with Hughes out for the year.

Complete waste of assets.

Playoff revenue matters, and NJ has CLB and NYR breathing down their necks.

They will do what they can to ensure they make it, even if they know they aren’t winning.

Dallas will have a lot of room next yr depending who they decide not to re-sign & Texas has no state tax. My money is on them making the move for Rantanen. Some won't be re-signed but Benn, Grandlund, Duchene, Ceci & Dadonov, if re-signed should all take much less next yr.

I love EK more than anyone on this site and Sens fandom. But man he has been abysmal defensively this year. In some moments absolutely atrocious. I don't know if I want that.

The problem is... it's not because he sucks, it's because he doesn't care to bother trying. He tried in the 4 nations and guy all of a sudden was among the league's best again.

If they wanted this team to spend waste our limited assets on short-term help, despite the team clearly not being a legitimate contender, they shouldn't have choked away a clear hold on a playoff spot by going 2-5-1 in their last 8 games, with the only wins being nailbiters against the two worst teams in the league.

Simple as.

Peterka to me would be almost same level excitement as getting Rantanen lool

EK for nostalgia but Marchand would be unnnnnreal. He's been one of my fav players in the league over last several years. He plays hockey the way it's meant to be played.

I would agree with all this. I think it's hard for him to care in his current situation. The Penguins are a quickly sinking ship. The rumors come out and the deadline gets closer - all of a sudden EK turns up the heat.

I think if we want to pull off something special, this is the kind of move that could make it happen. Get a rejuvenated EK with the Andlauer sens, and I think we could see something amazing. I understand the risks, but it's a shot I would take.

Also: Pittsburgh is a re-tooling team that could use a centre like Norris.

I also 1000% see the appeal. I am just terrified Karlsson won't try as hard as he should. He could be absolute difference maker and win a round or two cause of his addition alone.

In all seriousness, beyond systems, Rantanen has basically only played in cold climate winter sport cities his whole life. It's not far fetched to assume he might legit want to play in a traditional market. Ullmark had LA on his NTC but not Ottawa.
