Better 5on5 producer as well, but I attribute a big part of that to Buffalo's unstructured run and gun system that allows speedy forwards to thrive (If anything that's a red flag for Cozens, as he's basically a speedy not very smart forward and still not producing well).Things I’d imagine would be seen as a plus for Cozens over Norris
2 years younger
1 mill cheaper AAV
1 year extra under contract
2.5 million less in real dollars per year for the next 4 years
Bigger
NTC further away
No injury history close to Norris, he’s missed 130 games over the past 4 seasons

There's always resources. Don't need to make apologies for him. He runs this team. There's always a way
I’d be so pumped if this was the caseMy prediction is we get Donato for a 2nd and 3rd (same price as Toffoli last year) but he comes with an extension (3x4M).
He's well liked in Chicago so they send him to a team that's willing to reward him for his good season. He gets his first real payday and a bit of security. Staios makes his trade deadline and UFA acquisition in one go. We hope Donato can be a similar under-the-radar add that MacArthur was.
Laughton for Yakemchuk. The Laughton prophecy will be fulfilled.
And if he pays the high prices with their barren pool of assets, he'll be criticized just the same. No win situation imo.I mean, no, there really aren't very many resources at all in terms of picks and prospects. You can blame Dorion for that, almost entirely so in fact.
Not that I think Staios has done a great job so far, but you can't pull picks out of your ass no matter who you are lol.
Another Vegas 1st rounder on the scrap heap.
He’s stuck in a catch 22. He’s going to be criticized if he doesn’t add someone, and he’s going to be criticized if he gives up things to get someone. And if he pays the high prices with their barren pool of assets, he'll be criticized just the same. No win situation imo.
Are we sure that he knows it's the trade deadline?Staios isn't going to do anything guys. Just put that thought out of your head. He doesn't have the creativity or instincts required
My prediction is we get Donato for a 2nd and 3rd (same price as Toffoli last year) but he comes with an extension (3x4M). Brady helps convince him to sign (his wife is Donato's cousin).

they definitely should be asking him if they can get a 3rd for himNot that I think our management will ask Hamonic to waive his NMC, but I wonder what he could fetch at half retained given the price of rentals this draft
He really is. Not to mention the cap issue. I'm not expecting anything. Maybe a warm body for a mid to low pick. He’s stuck in a catch 22. He’s going to be criticized if he doesn’t add someone, and he’s going to be criticized if he gives up things to get someone.
He’s in a lose-lose, the only pieces he can afford without giving up very valuable assets are guys who are no different than what they have now.
It's a good prediction, but I think it's too low in terms of cost. It's not impossible, Chicago could mis-time the market, but it seems too low given what other players are going for.
Maybe we give up Ostapchuk and a 2nd instead of a 1st?

Not with that contract.Given the rumours we're looking for a fighter who can drop the gloves instead having to have Brady do it, do we put in a claim for Reaves?
Vegas isn't all that great at drafting.
Brisson is a bust, so a 3rd for Smith ain't that bad considering the insane prices right now.
Norris was on the worst/one of the worst team every year of his career until this season…Things seen as a negative:
Significantly worse player.
I find it hilarious that Peterka, Tuch, and Cozens keep getting thrown around on this forum as players to target. These guys make up the worst team in the Eastern Conference, and somehow trading out someone like Norris or Pinto for one of them is going to make our team better? I highly doubt it.
You'd think if Buffalo had all these golden assets they'd be a much better team.
