Gain a good winger, but also lose a good center, hence no net improvement or gain. IMHO.I'd trade pinto for Peterka ngl.

We were a perennial juggernaut year in year out. We signed hasek. We really have to make the playoffs. It would do wonders for our upcoming offseason. Only 16 playoff teams in the league, and players want to play for good teams. We have empty cupboards now, but that's not so much of an issue if we're a destination players want to sign with.
Like we got Giroux for free. Imagine if we had a few more signings like that?
Playoff tickets are really cheap for the first round if you renew your season tickets. $800 or so for 8 tickets to 4 games.
It's like they knew this would happen so they used playoff tickets to trick people into paying for another year of Sens hockey.
He's playing a bigger role because we have nothing better ahead of him. Ideally he's a 3rd line winger who can agitate and crash-and-bang, but he's currently slotted as a top 6 due to injury and lack of depth. Peterka would be a 2nd line winger for Stu who can shoot and score. There's IMO a massive gap in value between them, regardless of the cost-controlled nature of Greig's contract.I can't see them moving Greig. He played a much bigger role since late December, and he is cost controlled at what is going to quickly become a very good number now that we know the cap is going to shoot way up.
Not reading much into it but Seravalli added Peterka to his trade board:
If ever he gets moved it’ll be in the offseason if they can’t agree on a deal
send them batherson
When is guy going to make a move
Yes I’m very well aware of what STH benefits are, that’s why I said obstructed view for $50. But now you’ve come back with a 100% increase on the tickets, to $100.
It’s been the same since the 90’s, nothing changed.
It would be like the jensen acquisition. Like a 2 for one getting chabot going. Peterka should elevate stutzles game even further.Full throttle for this guy. Full throttle.
Greig+Zub+2nd
Greig+conditional 1st
He is exactly what we need.
Trade Norris/Batherson to recoup assets we lose from getting JJ.
Without hesitation.
We have the means to sign Peterka to a long term contract
We’re lucky if Greig ever becomes a 3 cI'm one of few that would be okay doing pinto for peterka. Stu and jj, brady and Norris ridly will grow to fill the 2c if lord for bid norris gets hurt.
And then who are we acquiring to get Sanderson going? Trading your top pair d man for some rando winger is not a good moveIt would be like the jensen acquisition. Like a 2 for one getting chabot going. Peterka should elevate stutzles game even further.

Ya, I see Grieg as a 3rd liner and its a bit too much of a stretch to have him playing higher in the lineup. He's playing a bigger role because we have nothing better ahead of him. If we acquire karlsson right now it is a sure fire guarentee we miss the playoffs
The fact that Lindgren f***ing managed to get a 2nd makes me believe if Hamonic didn't have NMC, we'd have gotten positive value for him, like a 4th or something.
I might get crucified for this opinion, but JBD would absolutely be a 7th Dman at worst if not a 6th on the Panthers or Oilers. We would have gotten a pick for Hamonic.
We will probably get a late pick for JBD as well. NHL RD are in short supply. Anybody with a pulse who has shown they can sit on the bench will get a 7th, like Christian Jaros did.
Lindgren, Ceci, etc - all those players who people trash for not being prime Drew Doughty, the reality is there are so few guys who can play that role in the NHL and nobody looks good in it. It's why Dallas has to give up a 1st for Ceci, even if they had to take Granlund's contract to make the deal work.

I am not because I know Norris won't be here longterm.
IMHO I'd take JBD over Schmidt, Stecher, and Klingberg easily.I don't think that's a crazy opinion. 7th D isn't setting the bar that high. Someone will give us a late pick for him. There aren't enough RHD to go around in a 32 team league and he was pretty good at certain points last year.
Maybe he will find a coach and system that he flourishes in and becomes an everyday NHLer, but it is pretty clear that Green isn't the coach for him.
If he was LHD, he would be playing for the Slovakia Golden Bears in a random European pro league. Lack of NHL RHD means he probably bounces around the NHL for a few years.
