so if norris and/or pinto end up missing the ltir timeframe 10 games and 24 days, then we could have ltir'd them and used the ltir pool to call up players/add a player. Essentially would have allowed us to run 12-6 at least or make a move and deal with the can kicking later since jbd and cousins are still on ltir. We are using the LTIR pool space atm from cousins and jbd to call up our 2 forwards in jenik/crookshank

The reasoning for not putting them on ltir is the team believes they will be because before 10 games missed. Norris has missed 5 and Pinto has missed 3. So i hope the estimate is accurate because if either ends up missing 10 games then we put ourselves in a poor situation for no reason
This is why I say every year need to keep a few million below cap. and not spend all the money.
Also for LTIR besides 10 games, it’s also 24 days must be missed.

How many times have they played a player short? Once?

if we can flip Amadio for Crouse, the appeal being Utah gets someone cheaper, that'd be dope. Amadio can provide decent depth on a very good team but he's pretty meh. Crouse has higher upside and we have another big bodied LW after the Tkaptain in the top 6. Probably would have to add another piece that has value that Utah finds valuable, not sure if someone like JBD would cut it

not necessarily a few million but we should be about a million under with whatever roster size we are running so we can call up a player if needed

im not sure about a player short it might have been once but we have been forced into running 11-7 i think like 5 maybe 6 times

How many games do we need to lose to become sellers?

You can make the case that this team doesn’t deserve to get any help as they are bunch of p***yes with injuries

One can play for Team USA but can’t play for Ottawa during an important stretch it’s embarrassing

Norris made of Glass, Pinto seems to be out lots even when it’s not gambling related.

everything that’s gone wrong has gone wrong really

Farting in your general direction - you’re parents must be Leaves fans with an attitude like that

Lots of talk about getting out from the Norris contact for what exactly so we can sign more Perrons or Amadios of the world?

Trading Brady to NYR? f*** that send him out West to the Kings for Clarke and Kempe package.

Zero interested sending him to New York bunch of overrated targets that aren’t winners similar situation to ours.

Sorry man, just extremely frustrating no urgency from anyone it seems.

We continue losing while everyone keeps getting points and nobody seems to care enough to play little bit hurt and when it comes to our management group make a trade so we can stop dressing 11-7 etc

Might need to add a draft pick. We have 3 3rd round picks in 2026 and our own 2nd round picks in both 2025 and 2026.

But what if we win 7-0 and all 7 Dmen score and we set an NHL record - Travis Green will be considered a genius

I wonder what a fair trade for Ottawa would like like with LA. I don't think they move Clarke, but they have plenty of forwards they can trade. Kempe, Moore, Greentree and a 1st?

Ugh, i hate looking at our draft stock and seeing how little picks we have in the top rounds. Only 1 first and second rounder in the next two drafts, no fourths, and 4 third rounders that we need to hit or hope are valuable enough to get us something useful in a trade. Really wish Staios was able to have gotten at least a 2nd added to the 3rd from the Chychrun-Jensen trade

St. Louis is probably the best fit from a trade perspective. They need a roster shakeup + the impact of having Tkachuk return home can't be understated from a fan excitement/revenue perspective (you can bet that if it was possible, their ownership would be all-in which could jack up the price).

Something like:

Jordan Kyrou ($8.125M)
Jake Neighbours ($3.75M)
Dalibor Dvorsky ($918K) or 1st round pick

for

Brady Tkachuk ($8.205)
David Perron ($4M)

Cap neutral, and Perron is likely willing to waive since he still lives in St.Louis.

We get a top line offensive player to pair with Stützle (a guy who's good for 30+ goals), a young lunchpail winger who can put up 35-45pts in the middle 6, and a good prospect or 1st rounder.

The Blues get a new face of the franchise.

This is the type of trade that Blues fans on HFBoards wouldn't like, but an NHL owner would.

That's a fair trade for both sides.

Could also see Norris being included instead of Perron, especially if they trade Schenn at the deadline and open up some space for next year.

LAK would be one of the best trade partners for Brady. Signing DJ was like a 4D chess move if they want Brady.

They have a deep prospect pool. Brady+Norris for Byfield+Clarke is as good of a starting point as any. Byfield has been inconsistent, but his ceiling is so high.

While their tax situation is bad, they are one of the best markets for someone like a Tkachuk who wants to play the game and become a big time celebrity athlete.

I would love to be on the end of a dumb Rob Blake trade.

Dude loves to overpay for toughness. It sounds insane but yeah I could actually see him considering Byfield+Clarke for Brady+.

One million is basically useless, doesn’t allow team make any moves/trades. One million is used up in no time with injuries.

They don't have a deep prospect pool, outside of Greentree, it's really not that good. They have a lot of good young players like Byfield and Clarke.

@Raccoon Jesus What would you offer for Tkachuk and what do you think Blake offers lmao?

Kings arent a good trading partner and they have no need for Clarke, he’s not even playing lately now that Kings D are healthy.
Not to mention Staois isn’t trading Tkachuk.

We have no need for a 22 year old right-shot defenseman who's put up 25 points in 53 games as a rookie in the NHL?

He's not playing for the Kings right because they're a very good, veteran team that thinks they can compete for the cup and he's young and still prone to making mistakes.

But he's a great young player who's likely going to be a 22-24 minute a night guy that scores ~60 points per season.

What do we have in the pipeline at RD, beyond Yakemchuk? Jensen will be 35 next year while Zub is turning 30 and is good to miss 20-25 games a year.

Sens are better team with Brady.
Clarke is a poor skater, ranks below 50th percentile in league for speed, but was never a good skater,
and ranks below the 50th percentile for his shot.

Nobody is suggesting a 1:1 Brady for Clarke swap.

Brady is also a poor skater, ranking below 50th percentile in speed, as well as below 50th percentile for his shot. We'd both agree that regardless of those "Next Gen Stats" he's still a very good player though, right?

Are the Sens a better team with Brady than with Byfield + Clarke + $2M in extra cap space, which is the trade the poster suggested? Maybe, maybe not. We probably won't find out.

All we know for sure is that this is our 7th year with Brady, and we've been a bad team throughout his entire tenure. As of today, we'd be out of the playoffs again.

We don't know if trading Brady would make us better. But we also don't know if we'll ever be any good with Brady.

Brady’s shot speed is 92 percentile,
so you weren’t even close. 😂

Lol shot "speed"? Who cares? His shooting % is below 50th percentile.

That stat isn't even shot speed on average. It's top shot speed recorded this year.

"Oh wow Brady Tkachuk shot it it real hard one time this season!!! Therefore I've determined that Brandt Clarke sucks."

Nobody here except that one guy who knows he is wants us to trade Brady. Although the negative sentiment about him has been increasing, which is something I never thought I'd see.

This gets repeated weekly, but most trade talk/speculation is prefaced with "if we think he won't stay after his NMC, should we trade him now". Whether it's explicitly said, or not.

I didn’t look at percentage, because Clarke is a defender.
If you’re looking at Brady for shooting percentage, when he’s near the lead every year on shots on net, due to jamming away at a loose pucks.
ok sure.
