I’d take JT Miller, he’s had Travis Green and Mike Yeo and he can have Timmy on his wing, tempting.

Not sure how the trade works but I’ll try:

Ott: JT Miller
Van: Ridley Greig, Zach Ostapchuk, Mads Sogaard
With what cap space? Pretty sure Norris has to go back and we're going to run a 1-2C of Timmy and Miller.

EF. on 32 thoughts speculated if Green thinks he can handle JT in Ottawa. He' said he its just an idea he had and is very likely never going to happen....but he did mention it
We need a dog like that. Last year he apparently had an insane shooting percentage and save % while he was on the ice

I think he’s the perfect swap for Norris.

Someone a bit more passive for a demon

I think norris would make the most sense for cap and for what Vancouver wants

Miller is also a good winger so when Pinto is ready we have a solution. Miller for Norris would be a massive upgrade for us in the top 6 and instantly add a guy who plays with an edge complimenting Brady

Miller is good and has the speed Ottawa needs, I don’t want to trade Norris or Ridly Greig to make it happen so not sure how it works. Maybe Vancouver takes futures and uses that to add to their roster with another trade.

Ott: Miller
Rangers: Ott 1st
Van: Kreider, Ostapchuk

You have to shed cap though. This proposed trade doesn't come close to working from a cap perspective.

You need to make an offer, that makes the salary cap work, so basically dollar for dollar.

Next season Sogaard and Ridley are $5 million and Miller is only $8 cap and $6.5 in real money.

If Ottawa has to include Amadio or Perron to make it happen, so be it
ahh you’re talking in the off season, not currently. He’ll be gone before the off season.
Mads and Ridley is 4 million not 5 million.

Getting Miller would be a Hail Mary /make the playoffs this season type move. Dude can be pretty intense and its what's caused locker room issues in Vancouver. Not sure if that would work here but its worth taking into consideration. If he doesn't immediately click and we don't make the playoffs, I wouldn't be surprised if we're looking to move him in a couple of years.

If he's locked in, he's a top 5 all-rounded beast, but if he's not locked in he can be a defensive liability like no other. 5 more years after this and he'll be 37 at the end of the contract.

Not really a hail mary though if he has another 3-4 good years left. If we can shed Norris then I think its a fair deal. His play style of being a physical center also would be an added benefit to this group. Length of contract is def a concern but I think we need to give this roster a fair shake with quality players

Pettersson seems extremely unlikely for us. At the money he makes he would be tough to fit under the cap.

at 11.6 per would we want him at that if we could fit him in... seems like a lot tied up with 1 player ...

Norris + ~3+M in salary + what picks ... a 1st + ... costly.

Would esily dump Norris and Perron salary to bring in Petersson. Doesn't seem like they want to trade him though

I don’t think the Canucks would do that.

If they would I suspect Staios would be looking into it seriously.

There’s a way to do it, I’m just not sure if what we could give would entice the Canucks.

I assume they’d ask for a RHD as well since they need one …. And we don’t have one to spare.

Petersson is def a more complex deal and probably a offseason one if JT is not moved. I think JT will be moved soon though

My comparison was more about salary and how i would easily spend 11 on Petersson rather than 8mill and 4 mill on Norris and Perron

Why would the Canucks want Perron back for Pettersson? Works for us but.
And it would take picks starting with a 1st on top of that.
According to Cam Robinson .. Pettersson trade rumors may pickup because they are not getting what they want for Miller at this point.

Anyway that relationship and the trade talk is not helping the Canucks

There's no chance at all that they would do that for Norris and Perron alone.

Easily add a 1st, a solid prospect, maybe Montgomery, and add something for taking Perron's salary. Still probably gets beat by other teams.

I get not wanting to move Greig, but what-the-actual-f*** has Norris done this year that Miller wouldn't improve (and, spoiler, Miller has more face-off wins and a better %'age on the dot than Norris)?
