Which fans are those? Some fans think every player needs to be at least 6 ft. 3 inches and weigh at least 220 lbs. and constantly crush opponents. IDK, but it seems that way some times.
With Ostapchuk's size, skating and defensive awareness, he seems to be holding his own and competing well on the 4th line. As he develops with more NHL experience, I think he could climb up at least one line to line 3; perhaps more if he develops a scoring touch.Absolutely. We're very lucky that Ostapchuk is a hit pick though, that's money in the bank.
Or Mathieu Olivier whom I think Columbus will re-sign unfortunatelyI think there are two guys that could help the Sens, one this yr & one in the off season.
Michael McCaron C/RW is not a great hockey player but he is a huge experienced player who will fight & give Brady a break, plays 4th line C which we could use & is a good defensive player. He could probably be had at the trade deadline given Nashville will likely be a seller, but what they would want for him is unknown. We'll probably need about 25 to 26 guys for a playoff push & McCaron given his size & toughest would help Ott in a playoff push & in the playoffs & Ott could use some more toughest in their lineup especially in the playoffs.
Brock Boeser RW is in his last yr of his contract & it will be interesting if he wants to stay in Van. Green knows him & Ott could use a RW especially with Giroux also in his last yr. He's the guy I would go after in the off season to add a little more muscle & scoring to the top six & they could find the money with Giroux likely taking a pay cut, if they decide to re-sign him.
I would make a trade at almost any time if I felt that it would provide a significant benefit to the team (either today or in the future).I don't particularly like the idea of moving a skater out right now when the team is just finding chemistry.
Forsberg is different, because as the backup he isn't playing every night and can only have so much impact.
McCaron is a BIG guy at 6"6" and 231 lbs. He will turn age 30 in March 2025. He seems to be the type that gets some PIMs. I have not seen him play. Is he very slow?I think there are two guys that could help the Sens, one this yr & one in the off season.

What about David Savard from Montreal? On an expiring contract, could be a good deadline pick up for defensive depth and has a cup.
I think Ostapchuck has some scoring touch. He just needs to learn to create more time and space for himself, where he can utilize his skills. With Ostapchuk's size, skating and defensive awareness, he seems to be holding his own and competing well on the 4th line. McCaron is an NHLer by circumstance alone.McCaron is a BIG guy at 6"6" and 231 lbs. He will turn age 30 in March 2025. He seems to be the type that gets some PIMs. I have not seen him play. Is he very slow?
Brock Boeser is the better player and knows how to score as shown by his stats. I doubt that we could afford him as a UFA; we would likely have to trade someone else such as Perron , Amadio or Giroux to gain the cap space.
