We should try to bring Jack Quinn home

Been scratched by the Sabres and is struggling, but last year he looked like a top 6 sniper and with a change of scenery maybe he goes back to that level
He's been snake-bitten with a very bad shooting percentage. Could be a good buy low candidate

Long term Quinn could be the perfect compliment to Stutzle on the second line. He is absolutely a future top 6 scorer in the NHL. Too bad the best we can offer would be a second rounder. We literally have zero disposable assets to entice teams with unless we are willing to part with Ridly in a hockey trade.

Yeah my lowball offer would be Amadio + 3rd. Not sure Buffalo bites.

There is no rush for them to trade him, unless they are getting something good.

I'd imagine that they would probably ask for Greig, who is having similar struggles after a strong season last year. A dark horse would be Ostapchuk. I am not sure we have anybody else in our organization drafted from 2019-2023 who seem like a fair change of scenery type swap.

At minimum, he is probably worth a 2nd in a complete worst case scenario, similar to other top 10 picks who struggled or had injuries. The recent Holtz trade was for Cotter+3rd.

Our 2nd and a warm body would be a very fair return if they want to move on from him. That's projecting to be a top 45 pick for a former top 10 talent who has hit a snag in their career. I don't think anybody else would top that value wise, but another team might put a player on the table that is more appealing to them.

I think it would take Pinto.

Probably him or Greig.

Buffalo wouldn't accept a 2nd and a warm body for the same reason we wouldn't accept that for Pinto after a similarly terrible 20ish game stretch.

Many many teams would offer more than that if that were the price.

I'm more than willing to trade Greig for Quinn.

I doubt the Sabres are looking to trade Quinn

I'd be more than ok with sending Pinto for Quinn

I wouldn't do it for Pinto, but Greig for Quinn makes some sense, at least for Ottawa.

Buffalo is in a tricky spot. They don't need futures, but they also don't really need another young forward like Greig. If they're really looking to move Quinn, it probably makes more sense to include him in a package for someone who's good right now - someone under contract and in that 25-28 year old age bracket.

With Zub out we have lots of room from LTIR and we'll need a body for the road trip, if nothing else, a claim would mean we could leave Mantipalo/Sebrango/Guenette in Belleville getting games rather than sitting in the press box.
While this was not my rationale, I agree with you - low risk acquisition that at worst gets waived again.

Ah I see, thanks for the update. Crookshank would be my pick in that case
I'd rather roll Greig between Gregor and McEwan

If they're gonna make a trade for another D to replace Zub, they have to do it before the trip, no?

Whats with all this news around norris
Pagnotta saying if Sens wanted to make a culture change. There being interest in Norris is good but we really can't afford to deal him mid season with how pintos playing. If it's a move we make it's probably an offseason one.

Carolina is apparently considering Forsberg. If we can dump the cap and upgrade on jbd it would be worth considering imo

they wont lol.

Of course not that was such a low ball lol when you add Amadio (rooting for him but currently looks overpaid, hasn’t been as good a fit with Pinto as hoped). I actually don’t know much about Jack’s progress, but he was a scorer for the 67s.

But I am also not trading Pinto or Greig yet. Maybe Boucher + the forfeited first round pick ;-)?

Gus Nyqvist could be a cheap add, would help fill out the top 6, maybe a 3rd rounder or. Soft prospect like Halliday

7 - 9 - 19
Nyqvist - Timmy - Gaudette
Greig - Pinto - Giroux
Cousins - Ostapchuk - Amadio

Problem is if he does well then how do we sign him. We have so much money tied up right now. Giroux will likely take a pay cut or retire. That’s the key.

I don’t like having 8 mil in a goalie. We could have signed Stolarz two off seasons ago to a nice contract
