Well yeah an 8 million third line Center FOR NOW. If Norris stays healthy this year and ends with 30th goals. Opens up some options for him for sure.

Like any team that goes on a winning streak you need your goalie to be hot. If Ullmark plays great they can certainly do it.

So im' predicting they lost to each of those and somehow beat the wings and canes

It's almost too late for changing GM, Andlauer made his decision and I don't think he's the type of guy to change his mind a year later or whatever it is. It's scary though, wish we had an assistant GM that had a firm handle on things to guide Staios.

Scouting, they can hire more people, or fire some and replace. Not sure why they don't.

In the end though, you make a trade sending Joseph and a 2nd away and signing Amadio - which is essentially what happened - and you deserve to be judged.

i do agree that the zub injury is at a poor time but top pairing hamonic is a choice that is being made (no idea why) and on top of that it isnt working either. I get not wanting to separate chabot-jensen but at some point winning the game needs to take priority over making the easy change

if we arent replacing hamonic in the lineup (Again not sure why) we got to insulate him as much as possible

He's got 4 points in 17 games and a -5 compared to Amadio with 5 in 24 and -6. He had 18 goals over the last 3 years compared to Amadio's 41. Neither guy is doing jack shit to help this team.

Never mind them being here for previous failed years. It's not even pining, it's that guys were brought in to help the team have flat out failed and it's f***ing annoying, especially when we paid to get rid of similar players that we brought in.

EDIT: It's also why I started by saying I'd be ok with a reset around Sanderson and Stutzle

Amadio played with tkatchuk and stutzle for like 5 games. I’m sure their underlying numbers were fine but I think amadio was still 0 points.

Joseph should some chemistry.

End of the day it’s a bit of a wash. I think amadio is def better defensively

Well, he was able to stick with them and do well. Amadio was given the same opportunity and stunk to high heaven with Stutzle and in the top 6.

It's not that we replaced Joseph with Amadio. I don't know why people get hung up on the specific names. These are role players and as such we should be evaluating them according to the attributes we'd like them to contribute, in a secondary role, to the lineup.

Joseph's attributes: fast (speed), quick into the forecheck (tenacious), defensively responsible (defense-first) and can help PK (contributes to special teams). So let's say it was time to move on from Joseph and forget about the fact that we paid to get rid of a guy coming off a career year.

These are elements that help your team succeed in the NHL. Why didn't we replace them with a similar set of characteristics? We know that this is a speed game and that utility players with speed who can score a bit and contribute to your special teams are worth a lot. Amadio was just not the right type of player given the kind of roster we have, which lacks in overall speed. It's not that he's not a good player (his current season notwithstanding) it's an argument of fit, which when added to the cost to move Joseph makes this all the more puzzling.
