Can we trade you to the rangers board instead of Tkachuk?
Personally, I'm only entertaining the idea on the basis of this season ending poorly again and it being an offseason decision. Potentially partially mutual with the NMC kicking in. They certainly can't just run it back again, so some form of major change is required.how about we trade guys who are actually not worth their contract ie Norris and Perron to clear cap
crazy that people want Brady gone

If they want to try again and disrupt the core, he's one of very few guys that is going to bring in any sort of decent return other than Sandy and Stutzle. Zub and Batherson I might identify to move based on little contract length left, but value may be limited by that too.
Clearing cap is fine if they can bring someone in to replace, but they aren't going to get much back for Norris, nor be able to trade him without other cap coming back, and Perron they had to overpay to bring in, so might actually be a pay to move scenario, and if that's what they got last offseason, who are they going to be able to draw in after yet another lost season?
Even if he asked out, Sens may tell him we aren’t trading you, we want to keep you, as you have a contact until 2028.Give Perron a break. There will be a time and place to go full Hamonic on him. With that said, he was very obviously never going to live up to that contract at his age, which isn't his fault. They overpaid to bring in a solid veteran presence who could play in the top 9. That happens when we're not an ideal market.
As far as trading the worse value contracts, I think that's what everybody would want but unfortunately teams usually only want good value players in trades.
I don't think everybody discussing Brady wants him traded. I can't speak for everybody, but in a perfect world he stays here and we figure out how to fix things. But he has been here for 7 years now and it looks like we may miss the playoffs again. Stars rarely stay through that. It doesn't help that his NMC creates a chokepoint where the two sides have to figure things out by. They can't afford to keep him past July 1st if he is unhappy because if he does eventually request a trade after July 1st, they will get much less for him than if they trade him at the deadline or the draft.
I used to have lots of interest in Lawson Crouse.....but oh how the mighty have fallen.I assume you guys are looking for a hockey trade rather than futures?
I could see Utah being interested in Norris. I assume he is more available than Pinto. Another player very much of interest is Ridly Greig.
Something involving Lawson Crouse?
I'd trade Norris for a deal involving Crouse but we'd probably have take back another contract to balance out the salary. Maybe Maata or Cole on D?I assume you guys are looking for a hockey trade rather than futures?

I'm available to drive Sogaard to the airport.Cap space isn't a concern for Utah. There's lots, plus we can't afford to move a D when already down Durzi and Marino long term.
How available is Sogaard?
NopeCurious why Sogaard's stock has dropped so much? Does he still have starter potential?

All I want from Brady is responsible defensive play. Utterly sick of year 7 of cheating for offense.how about we trade guys who are actually not worth their contract ie Norris and Perron to clear cap

This year especially you can see Stu starting to round out his game to be a more complete player. He is clearly sick of losing and is trying to do something about it every night.I’m open to any trade outside of Stu/Sanderson.
Seems that it’s been an 8 year learning curve with no learning.
Absolutely, neither of those guys is untouchable and as good as Norris has played, his shoulder health will always have an asterisk. Is a deal involving both Norris and Greig plausible?
Once he's traded, he will probably become a great goalie.Curious why Sogaard's stock has dropped so much? Does he still have starter potential?
Yes, you need to give us picks though, along with the scouts that will make the picks. Is a deal involving both Norris and Greig plausible?

It depends if you would be asking Steve Staois or fans I suppose. Is a deal involving both Norris and Greig plausible?
Would McBain or prospect like Doan be an option?
I think your proposed trade would hinge a fair amount on what Senator scouts thought of Matt Villalta. Looks like he had a good year in the AHL, but I don’t know that much about him. Jusso Valimaki wouldn’t generate much enthusiasm I’d guess. I’m not sure that trade makes us better or much better. Crouse will interest certain members of the HF Sens base though.I'd think a Utah/Ottawa deal would be more of a hockey trade rather than something involving futures as both our teams need to start winning some games rather than accumulating more future assets. But let me know if I am wrong in that.
Norris is interesting for sure, but the contract and the term especially gives me pause, as does the shoulder problem (I don't know if it's both shoulders or just the one).
There is some speculation that Lawson Crouse was/is unhappy with the move from Arizona to Utah. He's also had a slow start (he did last year as well) and maybe it makes sense to give him a fresh look elsewhere. I think Utah also wants to move Nick Schmaltz, but he has a 10-team no-trade list and I'd assume Ottawa is on that list.
Utah doesn't have much for goaltending long term and could give an opportunity to Sogaard. I also wonder if a JDB (recently scratched) for Valimaki swap makes sense. Both players are similar age.
How far off is something like ...?
To Ottawa: Lawson Crouse, Michael Carcone, Jusso Valimaki, Matt Villalta
To Utah: Josh Norris, Ridly Greig, Jacob Bernard-Docker, Mads Sogaard
Two forwards, one D, one goalie aside. It seems too big for a midseason deal, and maybe slanted in Utah's direction, but let me know on that. Utah is definitely taking some risk in taking on the Norris contract and injury concerns, and this deal also saves Ottawa about $4 million in cap space.
In order for us to assess the value of those prospects, please rank them by height and PIMs.I don't think so. Maybe prospects like Julian Lutz, Miko Matikka, and Aku Raty. I don't think any of our more high-end guys like Iginla, But, and Beaudoin will be moved. We do have Ottawa's 2026 second-round pick from the Chychrun trade, and depending how things go for you that could be an early pick.
