Doubt it. Preds already have 3 firsts and 2 seconds next year - they're in win now(ish) mode with those signings. They need to improve their bottom 6 fwds and bottom 3 D in a bad way (Lauzon getting top 4 minutes is not a recipe for success), plus Sissons and Novak are hurt so they are weak down the middle. If anything, Trotz is likely to be the one dealing draft picks this year despite him stating he'll let the young guys play. The Sens could likely cash in on that if they wanted to, but to what benefit?
One potential benefit could be improving our D core by adding a big, strong, physical defenceman to upgrade from Hamonic and JBD.

The only way we will get an upgrade on D would be if we get lucky with a low-cost acquisition or waiver claim, like we did with Demelo as a throw in as part of the Karlsson return.

Look at what San Jose gave up for Liljegren. It's a sellers market right now. Nobody is available. We also have very little cap space.

I don't know if I'd characterize the Liljegren return as evidence of a sellers market.

If anything I thought a 25YR old RD averaging 30P/82GP the last 3 years without top unit PP time going for only a 3rd was surprisingly cheap.

We couldn't afford Liljegren's 3M salary, but that was a no brainer for San Jose IMO.

Another good risk/reward move from Greir, who appears to be doing a bang up job for them.
