When everyone is healthy, I have zero issues with any spot right now. JBD has looked good next to Kleven and Hamonic is fine as a 7th. Perron we haven't gotten to really see yet, at least not while dealing with his current situation, so that is tbd, but I think it'll be fine.

I don't think we need help at forward so long as Norris can remain healthy. We have a deep and versatile forward group. Could we add a veteran 4th liner or something at the deadline? Sure. But we don't need anything substantial.

We need a legitimate #5D. The way Hamonic is used, he is in that role, but I think most people here agree we would benefit from Hamonic slotting back into a more conservative role. By legitimate #5D, I mean a veteran bottom pairing defender who can take minutes with our top 4D when needed. A right hand would be ideal because both Chabot and Sanderson are lefties.

What do you guys think of trying Pinto on the RW with Brady and Stu? Has he played wing before?

I'd prefer Pinto as 3C with Perron and Amadio. Would have 3 solid scoring lines
I think the proposed Perron - Pinto - Amadio line would be a strong defensive-oriented line that can contribute some points and make a positive contribution to the GF/GF+GA stat, but not a high "scoring" line. Perron and Amadio are too slow and Pinto is not a high-scoring forward.

I think he is better used as our 3C; however, I would be willing to try him there if we need some scoring. I think Gaudette might be a good RD on the first or second line as he is a goal scorer with decent speed.

Pinto had 20 year before last, and 9 in 41 last year, so he's basically a 20 goal 3rd line center. That's pretty solid. Perron usually scores high teens to mid 20's, so not bad for a track record there either. Amadio has averaged over 18 goals per 82 gp the last 3 seasons as well.

They likely won't put that up this year, but those are good 3rd line player goal totals and 2 of the 3 have proven they can hit that 20 goal mark.

Giroux will likely go year to year. He’s not going to hold the team hostage. I’d expect around 5M if he has a good season.
He has earned multiple millions; I expect him to want $5M over 2 seasons rather than one season, assuming he still wants to play.

Given that he is from Ottawa, I see him wanting to stay here. Is his wife from Ottawa too? If yes, I think signing in Ottawa is a major benefit for him and his family.

Giroux will be 37 in January. Yes he's a point a game player this year but it's only been 11 games and in comparison a bunch of guys on the team are lighting it up. ( eg Gaudette is on pace to score 49 goals!
People are downplaying his dramatic lack of scoring in the second half of last season (24points) and believe that he will be a 65 points plus guy for the next 2 years to justify $5 million per over that time. I think his production and performance are going to drop off to the point where he's not worth more than $3 million per year.
Yes, Giroux is likely to start regressing at his age and its possible he will regress to a $3M level; however, I think he will still want to be well-paid at $5M per season.

Agreed. A one-year signing of a vet RD to play this season. Next season, I think Yak will be here as 3RD with JBD as #7. Hamonic will be gone.

I hope all 3 reach or exceed the 20 goals/season.
