I think the opposite. Have a plan that actually gets you out of the zone without icing it. Of course there are extreme circumstances where smashing it out is the best option but not alwaysTravis Green and the coaches need to work with the D on what to do when hemmed in. Too many soft pucks up the middle getting turned over.
The D need to be stronger and rip pucks off the glass and out. I remember Chris Phillips being so smooth with this: he could back hand pucks off the glass high in the air out to neutral zone safety. Get on this Travis!
