He's just pointing out that they are willing to give up a later pick rather than wait it out. If this years pick is late they've already shown that they are willing to give it up rather than wait by offering the Boston pick last year, even though it was obviously turned down by the league.

Don't know how we make the cap hit work, especially for Tanev where we'd need double retention+...

But we should be going for some depth LW/LD that fit the group:

Gregor/Gaudette/Cousins (inj) should be in the stands or on LTIR until the playoffs.

Tanev is 875k with double retention. The Senators would clear that by sending a player whose spot he takes down.

If there is any truth to them wanting to move Norris, I think they want a similar result to want happened with JT Miller, where Vancouver filled 2-3 roster spots.

Unless we have someone going back on LTIR, it will be difficult to add more than one player most likely. Unless they are confident enough in Ullmark's health to trade Forsberg.
