McEwen won such fights in which Kastelik would have been made into a chop, and Watson with another punching bag.
What are you on? One on one kastelic would kill macewen. Whatever. Forget it. They’re all senators now.

Hmmm, let's look at Chicago... no Bedard! :o

Brannstrom was signed a week ago and is missing from the roster, and MacEwen yesterday but is on the roster. It's more likely that the Senators front office forgot it needed to re-add Branny. I can't imagine the public roster is leading actual deals.

For sure. I think Berggren is going to fit in well with Ottawa creatively and his vision. Plus he can work his way onto the second line.

Brady-Stu-Tarasanko
Joseph-Norris-Giroux (for face offs like suggested on LOSP)
Berggren-Pinto-Bath
Kelly-Kasty-Macewen
I don’t like the idea of rolling 3 lines

Not sure I’ve ever seen the NHL.com roster pages telegraph a move, despite it often being pointed to as a sign of a trade to come. Maybe this will be a first…
In the Sens context, it only happened once and it was years ago (2007). I recall a poster here flagging, early in the morning, that Peter Schaefer and Sean Donovan had switched places on the NHL roster pages for Ottawa and Boston respectively. People were speculating it was a glitch, but it was confirmed a little later.

I doubt that the NHL roster page preempted the official announcement this time, but you never know......

I think the idea is you roll three lines until it doesn't work, then you load up.

People get hung up on the "lines" but you can sub in a guy situationally, for example if their 4th line ices it after a long shift, throw out Tkachuk-Stu-Giroux, or going into the third if your having trouble creating offense, load up a top 6 and shorten the bench.

Personally, I like to have flexibility in our lines, and I like being able roll out wave after wave, especially if we don't have a true shutdown line.

Today is the day - I am channeling my inner BooBoo. It will happen - both Cat and Tarasenko's deals. Time for some high fives Pierre!

With our group I think the idea of 3 semi balanced lines could make sense. You can always load up in the last few mins as needed and obviously PP will be loaded up. We need to be better 5v5 this year - a big part of that will be the 3rd line being able to hold their own. I prefer two loaded lines, but I def see an argument for balanced especially if our third line is otherwise weak.

Sucks to lose Debrincat but if PD can turn him into a 1st and a good middle 6 winger and we also add someone like Tarasenko, that's a win for the roster. We'd be much deeper.

...but why trade Brannstrom? We're finally getting a good defense corps here. Why mess with it?

Especialyl when Chychrun is known for being injured so often. And Chabot has been having problems lately, too. Brann is great insurance. And at a decent price.
