Don't think we should be getting a guy based on if he can play the PK or not. He is not really shown to be a top 4 D

It makes a lot more sense to get Whitecloud as a bottom pair guy and move our Matinpalo. Then Yak is the extra who slides in and out of the lineup

I think it’s more nuanced. When we’re pushing for offense Yak can get bumped up to pair with Chabot. I’m sure some nights Kleven-Yak will play more than he does.

The question is more does he pair well with Chabot, his minutes are likely to remain bottom pairing regardless of where he’s slotted.

I really hope our solution to replace brady isnt to get Debrusk and Eklund. We need to replace Brady and add another scorer.

I was down for Boeser before when we had Brady but as part of a replacement I don't think that fits either

Definitely don't want to pay what the Canucks will want for DeBrusk (likely #25+) but on the other hand this forward group is damn sexy:

Eklund - Stutzle - DeBrusk
Greig - Cozens - Batherson
Zetterlund - Pinto - Amadio
Foegele - Halliday - Giroux

Would rather not get DeBrusk now that we have Eklund. DeBrusk has too much term for what he brings during an age range where he may decline. He needs top line minutes to score 45-50, we can already get that with Eklund unless we want him on the 2nd line (not the worst case)

DeBrusk is hard to get excited about but he can probably fill Brady’s role on the PP pretty well which is likely why they want him if that’s who it is
