Also on O'Connor, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of him shifting to center and Acciari staying on the wing. As of right now, I think the best way to build the bottom-6 is:

Granlund-Eller-Acciari
Hinostroza-O'Connor-Nieto

Now Granlund will likely be going out to make the cap room for Karlsson, but I think you want to bring in another guy from outside the organization (like Pius Suter) to replace him on the 3rd line. At least to start, Hinostroza can definitely work his way to the 3rd line but I'd rather him earn than than just start there. It's also possible that they want to see O'Connor on L3 and Acciari as the 4C, but I think Acciari makes a bit more sense to start.

if you think Vinnie has middle 6 potential where he can be solid on L2 I think your going to be greatly disappointed.

Or your just content with mediocrity

How many times do you have to see guys like Heinen fail in bottom-6 roles to realize that building your bottom-6 with ill-fitting players based on the idea of "they can step into the top-6 in case of an injury" is not going to work?

I'm curious to see what Devils fans think happened to Johnsson, because he went from 35 points in 71 games in 2021-2022 to having no impact at the NHL level last year.

I think he's WBS bound but is another lottery ticket to see if something clicks. He certainly was a middle-6 guy in the past in terms of production but he seems like he has fallen off hard.
