The Cap will go up. It has to raise commensurate the the revenue generated after the escrow is paid back. There seems to be some conspiracy theory stuff going around that the owners wont raise the cap anymore and this is the NHL forever now. That cant happen, or at least I have not read in any way from any source how they would be able to do that. The question is how much it will go up and what will happen next offseason. Do they raise it more than a million to help alleviate difficulties at the top and bottom of the cap? Time will tell of course.
