I think Drury has a 'back-up' deal for Nemeth where he can circle back to it as needed. It may have been contingent on them signing Trochek and Halak. Or it's contingent on them signing another player?

I never thought Drury really saw Miller as a serious piece for this group. He inquired, drew his line and moved on. Miller to NYR makes even less sense now because Miller's strongest value would be if he was playing Center for us. If the Rangers want to pursue a winger that's a rental, than Kane makes more sense than Miller at this point.

Miller at max retention is 2.625M, so is Kane with double retention.

Kakko would be 2M... double retention is a pipe dream. And, IMO, still a DUMB move... Kakko for a rental.

Cirelli's contract bothers me less. Thats fair if not a good deal.

They're basically paying Sergachev as much as Fox and Makar. I get that its 3rd contract vs 2nd, but I don't like that one at all. I have a LOT of doubt that he can step into McDonagh's minutes and perform well.
