I truly hope one of Chytil, Howden, Lias become a real good legit 2/3 center. I just don't see how we can go out and grab a very good center. Obviously someone else is being traded like Names or Kreider but JG is gonna have to be a magician to bring back a top center to go with Mika

He's the best center on the team by far. Why wouldn't he continue to get big minutes? Even with less minutes, he's likely to score more playing along side Panarin.

I really doubt they're going to play Panarin and Zibanejad together for most of the season, and if they do they might as well just play them for 50 minutes

control what you can control. Can't rely on getting a top 3 pick next year, even without Panarin we weren't going to be bottom 3 in the league so you're banking on winning the lottery for a 2nd year in a row? We've had good luck lately but come on.

Buch will get traded for a center. Namestnikov will have to go. Kreider will go at a cap crunch discount. Timeline got forced big time. I'm not going to waste effort complaining. It's done.

At 11.5 million, Panarin's rumored contract is a higher percentage of the cap (14.1%) than Nash's when we traded for him (13%) or Hank's when he signed his contract (12.3%).
Really dunno how I feel about Panarin. I think I said before, if the Rangers hit a lot on some of these picks and prospects they've stockpiled, it could all come together well in 2-3 years and Panarin will still be a real good player at that point I think. If not...it's going to be a very shallow team. On the other hand, if htey missed on a lot of these guys it was probably going to be a failed rebuild anyways
