If Panarin doesn't get announced to the Islanders at 12 sharp, you can bet your bottom dollar he would rather be a Ranger and his agent is just doing his job and trying to get his client the best deal he can.
Chytil, Buchnevich, ADA, 2020 1st (top-3 protected; otherwise a 2021 unprotected 1st) for Aho.

Not gonna lie. The juxtaposition of the Brooks Tweet against the LeBrun one is a little alarming.
You would not need to add Lundkvist and Chytil to Kravtsov to get him. That's ludicrous. And the Rangers wouldn't do that anyway.
I think something like Kreider+Chytil+Lias/Buch/Lundkvist maybe. I'm not sure.
It would be a huge package, no doubt, but I'd much rather trade that for a 21 year old, budding star center, than a winger that is going to put up less than 30 goals.
Last thing Carolina needs is another RHD. They are already trying to move one of Faulk or Hamilton.
We don't have teh 2nd or 3rd round picks to make this type of offer. With the picks we have tied up in the Fox trade, the only offer sheet we can sign is one with 4 1st round pick compensation.
Make it Hajek instead, then.Last thing Carolina needs is another RHD. They are already trying to move one of Faulk or Hamilton.
So, here's where you and I fundamentally disagree.
I am not trading 3+ assets for an 80point player when I can sign one for free.
Neither are guaranteed of doing it again, but one has established a history of that level of production for more than one season.
I'm not convinced that Aho can do it again.
Pass on the Aho trade offers.
Would rather hold onto Chytil and the 2020 1st rounder. Of course there is Buchnevich who could be on the rise. ADA, same thing

Would anyone trade Zibanejad for Aho?
I dont know. That is a lot of pieces to give up. All 3 are NHLers right now. Plus the 1st rounder.. its a lot imo.Aho is a monster player.
I have no problem giving up those pieces for him.

If you're comparing them straight up, sure. But factoring in the assets we'd have to give up to get Aho? I don't think "not even close" is accurate at all.Aho is such a better investment than Panarin, it's not even close.
