Putting 27 on the top line sparked the game for the Jets and had that line spend some time in the o-zone that they hadn't done for weeks. Something many of us have been asking for weeks.

That top line can only handle 1 passenger at a time. So far 81 and 13 are passengers, that puts a lot of workload on 55. With 55 and 27 together doesn't matter who the third guy is whether it is 13 or 81... they can do the work let the third guy do what they do best- finish.

Who else thinks that the coach is still gonna be stubborn and take 27 off of that line as soon as everyone is healthy?

And people wonder why there was so much complaining about that top line.

Great 45 mins of hockey, terrifying 15 mins of hockey...

I think its pretty clear that Ehlers needs to be on the top line - consistent zone entry

If anyone is wondering what the basics of Bones system is - watch the 3rd... strong forecheck, D engaging knowing there's forward support, strong secondary support especially in the neutral zone, get traffic in the slot, get pucks on net... pretty basic stuff.

Love the fourth line - Barron and Kupari have speed - wish Barron would have got that goal...

From a mess of a team halfway through the 2nd to dialled in to start the third... thats a good sign.

Team needs another D more than a top forward - Schmidt and Stan have multiple panic plays per game...

If you want to understand Bones system, watch the 3rd period.

Scheif didn't beast the third... Ehlers did.

It only took... that top line being one of the worst lines in hockey since the ASB, barely beating bottom feeders like Chicago, Arizona and St Louis, losing lopsided to rivals Stars, injury to the 3rd guy on that top line and being down 3-0 going into the 3rd against the Canes :laugh: . And still a good chance he takes him off that line as soon as Vilardi is healthy.

Last time Ehlers was on the top line was against Pittsburgh, where he was the best player on the ice and led the Jets to ending their 5 game losing streak. Then he was off it the next game and in the doghouse soon after.

First period was alright. Second period, the Jets suffered from that shitty counter punch that happens when you can't defend well. Glad to see they moved Ehlers up to the top line instead of Names or Iafallo. Wouldn't you know it, Chef and Connor woke up. Amazing. So frustrating. The boy needs more ice time than he gets. It's that simple.
