Player Discussion Fraser Minten

fire this management please...if true of course. Maybe let him carve out a role on his own instead of pigeon holing?

In his intro to the Bruins video, he describes himself as a reliable 200' player, good at both ends of the ice, and names Bergeron as a B he admires. Coaches in the Toronto system noted his defensive responsibility. His scouting reports all mention his two-way ability.

I'd say he's been carving himself out a role, and the B's are going to put him in positions where he can succeed... exactly what I'd want from management.

he needs to make his bones on the bottom 6 and if like Geekie he shows offense he can move up

They need good players he should be one

‘ yes sir’

Finally, a prospect, that gives me some hope, this kid is aware of what is going on and where he is on the ice, in both ends, puck battles were good even the ones he lost, the opponent, had to earn the win. He stays on his feet, refreshing. If they screw this kid up, I will be pissed. Good luck kid I look forward to watching you. I must admit, I am that guy that gets pissed at others who fall in love with the shiny new toy, but this time it is me and call me a hypocrite, I deserve it.

Bruins love developing 100
Foot players. Glad the book is already written on Fraser. Bottom 6 forward it is. Can never have enough of them

I’m a big, big fan.

I think if we treat him like a “bottom six” player, we’re unfairly capping his potential. Third line C as his floor. Could be more if paired with the right linemates.

Highway robbery.
Thats the kind of thinking, I hope management and coaching takes with this kid no labels, play him and let the talent seek its own level.

They tried -- Khusy -- Minten -- Lysell for a spell last night and I thought they didn't look that bad together. There might be something there. Hope they go back to it.

Didn't score a hat trick.
No assists.
Didn't win 3 fights.
Didn't play on PP or PK
BUST
Send him back...
Did I do that right ?

I tend to agree but on the other hand (I mumble something about the toolbox, the tools, hockey IQ, 200 foot game and compete level) I actually need one more 14:59 minutes of watching him to make an absolute rock solid determination.

Beecher has given them 3 goals and overall a disappointing season ~ if Minten can start on 4th line give then 25 points (12 G) and be a very good rotational PK that’s a great rookie season - anything more is a huge plus

As @DKH noted above, a Geekie is a good example that management allows players to grow beyond the "book" already written. Dude was a 4th liner when he arrived, and now is riding shotgun with the team's best offensive talent.

I also note that Pasta, Lysell, Merkulov and Mittlestadt aren't being asked to become the second coming of Patrice Bergeron. Nor is Lorhei getting benched every time he gambles and loses.

Minten is a self-described 200' guy, and we're going to see how he handles additional responsibilities that play into that strength. If he flourishes, my expectation is that they will continue to offer him opportunities to grow and change his role. That may take some time... just like it did with Geekie.

Minten will odds on replace Lauko and maybe Beecher

I could see Beecher dealt

My bottom 6 LW using info today is
Khush & Minton

Carlo and coyle really got Sweeney a haul. Hard to complain about these new prospects they added. Basically doubled up on the high end prospects.

If Beecher is dealt I can not see any team giving up anything more than a 6th round pick. I am not sure the Bruins should give him a qualifying offer , to him , as a RFA

He got a shot because of his defensive game, not like Lysel who they left in the A trying to turn him into a Keopke! How many B's prospects would have turned into something if they were put in a position to showcase their talent rather than trying to change what you drafted them for! Seems like DS shows his feminine side by trying to change every prospect!

I love what we continue to hear reported about his character and work ethic.

From what Ive seen on his play. Has a nose for the net and is very responsible with the puck already. There were a few times where I saw a play where he could've tried to force a play up the boards. But instead, he had the instinct or know how I guess that there was an open team mate to reverse it to without putting them into trouble- Sad to say but it was pretty refreshing as I feel a lot of his teammates would have forced it up the boards as they have done all season.

Im very excited for this kid.
