“I don't want play anywhere else. It's where I want to be. I see the bigger picture. I see how good we're going to be next year and the years to come, so I want to be part of the solution.”
Which leads me to believe he’ll sign a fairly reasonable deal. He’ll be 31 when the next year starts…. I think 3 years 4-5 mil a season is prob realistic and not unreasonable…. I’d prefer to stay 4.5 or under, as I think he’ll start to move down the line up once guys like colangelo and sennecke are in the line up.

Should be a pretty consistent 20 goal 40 point + guy throughout those years. And someone you can move up the line up with injuries.

I mean.... If someone asked me what I thought about my work and I knew my boss would hear i'd probably be saying the same thing.

I'm in a similar mindset contract-wise. Personally, the years are more important than the money with Vatrano. I would push hard to be 3 years or fewer. Money wise, I'm good with 5 mil or lower per year.

If he stays healthy, I think he probably finishes with around 25 goals this year. He’s not going to score 37 again, but for a team desperate for goals I think it would be wise to keep him.

My only issues with Frank is the dumb penalties and the diving. He brings a lot of things we need(speed, scoring), so I’d be willing to look past that if we got him on a reasonable deal.

I love Frank, but resigning him long term is a mistake. Part of being a good team is being able to find these players and then move on before they require a dumb contract.

Like Tampa Bay moving on from Coleman and Goodrow.

Pay an undersized middle 6 winger (who has been a bottom 6 guy up until he came here) 5 mil until he is 34-35 years old just seems like we are asking for trouble.

I get the whole “he wants to play here” stance but if that was true then he should be willing to come back after a trade and/or be willing to not go for the maximum he can get in term and aav.

I don’t expect that to happen, rightfully so.

Idk i think frank isnt a bad signing if we get him at 3 years and under 5(prefer closer to 4).
I think he can a solid piece in our bottom 6.

For me it just depends on what type of contract hell accept.

On pace for a career high 277 shots, which would be a third consecutive year with a new career high. Last year's 272 shots were the most by a Ducks player since Pers had 280 in 2013-14.
We’re resigning him. I do get the feeling that we can get a team friendly deal too. The important part to me about Frankie apart from him being very public about wanting to stay a duck. Is that he’s worked on his defensive game and the stupid penalties don’t happen much.

I'm indifferent if we keep Frank, but critical of term & cap. I'd prefer an upgrade on Frank if possible, but I also prefer the devil I know than the devil I don't. The problem with handing out a dumb contract appears to align with Verbeek far too much to my liking. Look at Killorn's contract and the willingness to take on Trouba's full contract without getting more back for taking on said full contract.

We need an actual NHL top-6 winger.

That website that predicts what a free agents contract should be. Had killorn being paid 6x4 we paid 6.25x4 he’s been fine. Both seasons just starts off slow, but he can score and he plays defense. Agree we need a true top6 winger

Killorn isn't a top-6 forward. He got overpaid because of his time with Tampa Bay.

His time with the ducks, killorn has similar numbers to his lightning days. Hence I say he’s been fine and that I agree we need an actual legit top 6 forward for sure

You do know I shared his career for all to see in my post. Killorn's last two seasons, he scored 25 or more goals, 0.72 ppg rate or higher, and played all 82 games in each season. Killorn is nowhere near that type of production for the past two seasons with Anaheim. Last year, Killorn had a 0.57 ppg rate. Currently, Killorn has a 0.47 ppg rate. That isn't worth $6.25 mil AAV.

I think it should be considered that those ppg rates with Anaheim ARE similar to the Tampa numbers.

Tampa in those two last seasons scored 283 and 306 goals for, anaheim last season scored 204 ? Pretty big difference.
