ppl forgetting how allergic panarin and strome are to kakko and how little time it took for gallant to move kakko to the 93-20 line despite playing his best hockey as an NYR.

Kakko had 8 points in 8 games on that line. They dominated. Kakko was moved to jumpstart Zibanejad and Kreider.

This was a great addition for the price. It really provides more flexibility for Gallant moving forward. Vatrano is best suited for the 3rd line but can be some insurance for the 2nd line and move up the lineup when you need more of a shoot first mentality. A mere 4th round pick for a guy who’s numbers dipped slightly this year than his norm because his ATOI has dropped by about 2 minutes due to being on a loaded Florida team. He will do well in this lineup imo.

Drury did extremely well here. Its like he was saying F U to teams like Anaheim asking too much for an underperforming Rackell, he’ll go get a serviceable piece elsewhere for the right price. I think it sets the market for this type of player too. 3rd-4th round pick range. Yes I am looking at you Lekohnen or even Copp with the injury history, who would I absolutely still be in on. I think there is more to come.
