What the hell, I thought this was a joke. 1 goal and 1 assist !? What is happening.
Hes actually been pretty good this year... very unlucky, but much better in all aspects of the game.

The bigger concern for most duck fans is Terrys play... right now hes kinda the anti-zegras.

Zegras is playing hard/smart and working on those aspects of his game that are often criticized... and getting negative results in the production department (a lot of that is luck, and a real lack of chemistry between him and terry).

While terry seems to be playing half assed, and overall disapointing, but the points are coming for him.

I was channel surfing last night and saw a "Mr. October" documentary on Reggie Jackson listed. That made me chuckle since "Mr. October" used to be a derogatory nickname used for hockey players who got off to quick starts and faded.

In particular I seem to recall Brian Savage having that nickname after a couple of big Octobers. Looking up Savage's 1999-00 season:

Savage: 18 games played, 12 goals, 7 assists, 22.6% shooting percentage
Vatrano: 18 games played, 12 goals, 6 assists, 19.4% shooting percentage

Savage missed time with injury, but he scored 5 goals in his final 20 games.
I don’t think any Ducks fans are expecting him to pot 50 goals. He’ll surely regress as the season moves along. However, just going by his goal total last season, if he averages around the same amount as that, for the remainder of the season, he should end with around 28 goals which would be great for Frankie. I think that’s completely doable for him. 30+ wouldn’t be too difficult for him to achieve just by maintaining his last year total plus a bit extra of a push.

Then I’m sorry for being rude but you are terrible at evaluating a players game.

No, I'm fine.

He’s played nearly 200 games and has, what, maybe a handful of Michigans/attempted Michigans, and that’s all you see him as? So the other 97% of his games where he doesn’t attempt one, mean nothing?

I didn't mean the Michigan only, obviously, the attempt at pretty plays rather than playing it more simply sometimes and actually getting a goal.

If he scores 50 goals this year, he will be the biggest surprise 50 goal scorer of all time.

But why did the Bruins, Rangers and Panthers give up so easy on this guy? He looks like a legit elite sniper out there this year.

He actually looked really good in NY and in Florida.
is the bolded a serious question?

And what is he, 29 or something this year?

Are you expecting him to keep getting a 2-3 goals game every 4-5 games?

66% of his goals come from 17% of his games.

3 games 8 goals, 9 points
15 games 3 goals, 7 points
You're batting 0-2 between this and the Xhekaj thread.

He's always been a fantastic shooter, great to see him breaking out, maybe he's about to have a Marchand-like prime starting at 29 years old.....more likely he never sniffs these totals again.

Vatrano is a good scorer and a very useful player if he's in the right role.

He has a lot of blindspots and pretty much sucks if he's not in the act of shooting the puck.

For the Rangers, a team that already has a weakness with their overall game at 5v5, it was a hat on a hat.

We were putting him on lines that could already score but needed help defensively and with checking, and he was making them even worse. We didn't have the type of role he can be useful in.

I can't speak for his other teams but that's why he wasn't a fit for the Rangers.

Pace when my post was done: 50 goals
Pace now: 40 goals
Pace in the interval: 32.8 goals

How was I wrong exactly? He has slowed down a lot.
This is the perfect example of why PACE is a fake imaginary BS number and shouldn't be used ever.

I don’t think that’s totally fair but using it like 1/4 into a season yeah
Seems like it is used almost entirely during smaller sample sizes.

Otherwise...your stats are what they really are...it's bizarre to me.

11 goals in his first 14 games, followed by 10 in his next 30.

But his career high is 24, so he's still having a heck of a season.

The Ducks offense has really dried up as a whole, ever since the injuries started piling up a couple months back. Just haven't been the same club that hit the ground running out of the gate.

From what I remember in Boston, he had a deceptively quick shot, good speed...but nothing else. Was on his ass a lot, not a good player anywhere on the ice unless the puck was on his stick with an open shooting lane. In and out of the lineup with a different cast of characters every time. It's hard to stand out in those situations I suppose.

That shot though. Happy to see him succeeding at the moment, but 50 seems like quite a stretch. At some point the shots dont go in and he will end up shooting less.
Also came into camp out of shape which did him no favors when guys like Chara, Bergeron and Marchand are on the team.
