Spooner for Fowler, Doubt Buffalo has any one that would entice Murray to trade Fowler to Buffalo. Murray can't afford to take on salary any player the Buffalo trades for Fowler more then likely wouldn't be enough to afford to resign Lindholm.

My guess is that the Bruins think the price will come down.

I'd do Spooner in a heartbeat but a lot of Bruins fans don't like it.

I really don't think Anaheim can move Fowler right now.

For a team with some bad contracts, and who needs to be getting value for the money they spend, Fowler is a gold mine at the moment. Obviously, that gives him value to other teams too, but the chances of us getting similar value back, in both on-ice play and money spent, is pretty slim.

It has been discussed to death, most fans agree on a trade roughly around Spooner for Fowler, the problem is Anaheim doesn't really want to trade him, and Boston (while in dire need for a D upgrade) actually needs a RD because the only capable guys - Chara and Krug - are both LDs.

I'd love to have him here but we just don't have the pieces. If Kane was consistent and not a dumb*** he'd have the skill value, but obviously he's inconsistent and is a dumb*** so that would just be negative value.

Do the Ducks need/want scoring off the wing? Cost controlled assets from a Buffalo POV would probably be someone like Bailey or Fasching, though neither has the wow factor. There would need to be some other pieces like Guhle, and then it's into the rowboats for battleship vein, with far too many oars. They would also have to find a way to shuffle salary off to someone else to make it work from a cap perspective.

Lottery protected picks are one of the worst assets people put on here. It's basically "here's a 1st, but if it's valuable we want it back."

It's going to be more common with the new lottery odds to see first round picks traded, top 3 protected.
