Boston is wating for McAvoy in the off season
Fixed :)
Fowler has been playing great. New reports also say he isnt being traded so..
It seems so. A Spooner + prospect for Fowler makes too much sense for both sides. For it to not get done by now seems like Anaheim wants to keep Fowler, Sweeney may also want to hold on to Spooner due to his skill-set being valuable to the team, and unload another contract on their team to free up cap space for Lindholm. The problem is that if Anaheim would rather move Bieksa/Stoner/Demers, they will probably have to add a valuable asset to do so. Teams will not take on those players for cheap just to help Anaheim. It looks like Anaheim wants to keep Fowler, and the teams willing to help Anaheim want Fowler. It should be interesting to see how it all pans out.

So a 2nd and a 1st they can't have next year?
Great deal...

Girgensons was a first rounder, and the 1st will likely be from 5-15. Might not be what the Ducks want but it's not what you're griping about.

If the pick has any reasonable chance of landing 1-3, that seller risk is going to be mitigated or leveraged to increase its value.

I really don't think Anaheim can move Fowler right now.

For a team with some bad contracts, and who needs to be getting value for the money they spend, Fowler is a gold mine at the moment. Obviously, that gives him value to other teams too, but the chances of us getting similar value back, in both on-ice play and money spent, is pretty slim.

so not gonna sign lindholm then?

expect that 1st rd pick to be gone to rid stoner, then ltir depres might get it done

I'm okay giving a 1st with stoner at this point, id rather do a 2nd and maybe decnt prospect like petterson noeson etc but fowler has been great so far this year, and id prefer to keep him, I'm more willing to move vatanen

Ya I don't get all these teams that don't want fowler making threads about him every week its awkward

99% of the fans think that the only possible trade is "crap + cap dump + 2nd" for your good player who actually is **** and no we don't need this trade anyway, we have great young players taking over NHL in 2 years, wooo, my team is **** but every single player is either awesome or gonna be awesome, keep your crappy players. Okay, we have one 37 year old on the 3rd line signed for 6 more years on a 5.5m contract, you can have him for a conditional 3rd.
