Canada can't handle that much freedom

I got banned from the main board thread because I clicked on the live feed and didn't see the mod warning about sensitive topics. I joked about the US and Canada becoming one, so you might have a point lol

Why don't they Kings ever lay out mcdavid like McAvoy has done twice?
Nobody capable of catching him.
I don't know about the rest of everyone but I'd love to have the Tkachuk brothers on the Kings. They are like Dustin Brown back in the day. You hate to play against them but love having them on your team.

Edit: Doughty just got tattoo by Brady
At least Brown kept his mouth shut and went about his business. Those two run their mouths too much for my liking.

I'm not a big USA rah rah guy but how do these bozos not know that booing the anthem is only going to rile these guys up. Not only childish but it might mean that mcdavid and company might not even get to play in the final 🤣.

f*** em.
After shitting the bed in the WJC this tournament could be another crusher for Canadian fans.

Love the 3-2-1 point format, you would see a lot more teams (especially those chasing in the standings) going for it in the third period of tied games, as opposed to sitting back and playing for the extra point (the Kings being one of the most guilty teams in the league at this). It would incentivize winning in regulation.

But you would have less parity, and the league and it's owners LOVE parity and so many teams getting the loser point in 3 point games. There are a lot of sucker fans (such as one who posts here) who love to talk about their "95-100 point team", while being completely oblivious that half the league reaches that threshold.

People think their team that is 30-30-9 is a ".500 team" the same way that a 30-30 NBA or MLB team is .500, just not realizing at all that those lost 9 points are going to competitors.
I hate 3-2-1. I’ve experienced it in the UK ISL. The play-off rankings were set well before the regular season ended and the championship (league has equal value to play-offs on uk) was between just two teams for the last few weeks. It was dropped after 1 season, bearing in mind everyone (me included) liked the idea at conception, for all the reasons you explained. It is not sour grapes on my part either as we were one of the competitive teams as far as the playoff race was concerned.

Yes teams get rewarded for winning in regulation BUT the teams with a high number of regulation wins will clinch play-off berths early making the last 10 games (for example) pointless. You’d also risk having fewer bubble teams etc. Essentially it risks introducing greater separation in the standings, making the regular season playoff race far less interesting. Sure there will be some seasons where it’s fine, but there will be others where the play-off teams are essentially set by the TDL… when that happens (and it would) everyone will be complaining far more than they do about things currently.

I agree on your point about .500 teams and 95 points not really being the achievement it was previously, but that’s about how people want to interpret it. People are always going to misuse/misunderstand the data no matter what system is used.

I'm Canadian and i'm embarrassed at all the anti USA rhetoric going around, keep your personal/political feelings outside of sports. Doesn't make any sense to lump a whole country and their people (our biggest ally, neighbor, import/export) all together. So many people can't even cope with the fact that the American hockey system has been getting better from year to year, feels like we've lost to them on the world stage at every level within the last decade.

Canadians are so stuck in this weak national identity of being better at the Americans at anything we can that brings out the worst in our country and the people here. I'm almost rooting for USA in this tournament as much as I am Canada and I hope at the very least the stupid booing during the anthems will stop soon

Brock Faber with another ho hum 25 minutes, +3, including making the poised play out of the zone that led to the empty netter

probably not a top pairing dman though and kind of worthless, etc.
He plays the way they want Clarke to play. Its a shame they traded him because hed fit into the Kings system well.

Besides his nice pass to McNugget on the goal, Drew didn't look all that impressive. He has a bad habit of taking long predictable wind up slap shots at the point, too easy to block and anticipate. Looks behind on a lot of plays, hopefully his timing comes back. He also made a bad change on Larkin's goal, but Crosby is partially responsible for that turnover. Fully expected Chuckf*** to take a run at him, which he did. At least he didn't get injured. One of the craziest starts to a game I've ever seen, but things seemed to wind down after the 1st. I can't believe Scheifele isn't on team Canada, he's almost Mackinnon tier. The goalie situation is also grim for the 'Nadiens, how did they not invite Logan Thompson with the season he's having?
