One of the absolute worst, for sure. Nobody stops their fans from watching their games like the NHL does, it's crazy.

Piracy is largely a service issue. I guarantee that waaaaaaaaay more people would pay to watch NHL games if they could actually watch them all with one subscription.

Read this note today....

Being able to fill out a roster exclusively with NHL players was a challenge for Finland at 4 Nations; once Miro Heiskanen and Rasmus Ristolainen went down with injury, that left Winnipeg Jets blue liner Ville Heinola as the only Finnish-born NHL defender left who isn’t participating in this week’s tournament.

Damn, that’s rough.

I had hoped the team would have given him a better shot this year, but it seems like the Jets are dead set on trying to force a square-shaped Stanley down our round gullets.

we're hooped ........

You can already see some of the dipshit player selections coming into play.

Binnington, Paryako, Doughty, Cirelli, Heigl.

If we lose another top 4 D we're cooked.

Canada really needs to get out of the old school mindset. This isn't a 100+ game war of attrition, it's a short, winner take all sprint.
I find it funny, no Chevy, no Arniel, no Scheifele. Canada's GM is out of the playoffs with the roster he is managing, Doug Armstrong probably got a couple of his guys in. Cooper same thing.

Who is on the Hockey Canada Olympic selection Committee? Besides Armstrong? Is this the preview?

Or see post #112.
Or what just about anyone who follows NHL hockey was thinking but didn’t bother to post.

Vegas f***ery with IR and cap space almost isn’t even worth talking about. It’s become as embedded in the game as makeup calls and gambling commercials.

EDIT: Sorry this post wasn’t meant to be snarky towards you! I despise the VGK.

My thoughts on last night’s game:

1. I paid attention to it, more attention than I’ve paid towards the last 10 ASG combined.

2. Quality and intensity of play exceeded my expectations, which admittedly were extremely low.

3. I’ve become a lot more cynical about international competition in all sports because of the corruption and - for lack of a better term - the increasing artificiality of it. That said, last night was a pretty neat spectacle.

I don’t think I’ll ever get back to the same feelings I had watching the 96 World Cup and wishing for someone to send Chris Chelios to the hospital. Not even close. But something undeniably cool about seeing JMo, McD, MacK, et al repping Canada after such a long gap in anything resembling best-on-best international hockey.
