Every goal that Helle has let in this tournament has been in the first period.
The trend continues. Those first few shots every game seems to be his Kryptonite.

Eventually I'll have the time to do the digging, but for now I'll first ask if anyone has a breakdown of goals by period against Helle this year.

Edit: I didn't realize that Helle has a day off today. But would still be interesting to see his first period stats.

Hill is a much bigger guy and is slightly better statistically. Makes no sense he's not playing
I wish Murat was their to grill Cooper with his roster decisions. I hate that most reporters have to toe the company line.

You’d think JoMo would share some insight with his teammates on how to score on Helle. Maybe not.

That got a little more exciting than it needed to. Dear coaches, Morrissey is really good in those situations late in the game, much better than Doughty and Sandy. Full props to the Finns though they didn’t quit.

On balance for about 54:00 minutes the Canadians played a really dominating game.

Cooper did a good job with the shuffle. Reinhart worked great with MacKinnon and Sid and Point’s speed was the perfect addition with McDavid. Also much better job of the lines moving the puck and playing as units. I guess it takes a few games to get a feel.

Good to have Makar and Toews back together. They have that familiarity chemistry.

Canadians doing a much better job of dumping it in and getting in on the forecheck. Now I don’t expect that will be nearly as easy or effective against USA’s excellent D core but its the right way to approach it.

Binnington almost had a really good game but things got scrambley late and he did nothing to calm the nerves of Canadian fans.

Helle coming off of rest. Is it true he's not as sharp? He'll be off for 4 days.
Stats point to that not being the case. He has a .920% in 4+ days of rest. This is for his career and taken from the NHL website.

Cooper ain’t the only brain dead coach!

Ok, Swedes get past, top, blitz, crush, eke out the win, slither past, upend, deep six, annihilate, beat down, flummox, cantilever, smear, beguile, drop-kick, pistol whip, zip tie, blast, blaze down, evicerate, pluck, tar and feather, landslide, bedevil, beseige, whack, unsettle, annoy, roast, steamroll, washout the Muricans in Murica.

I only started watching in the 3rd with 12 mins left so I’m only going by the stats and what I saw at the end.
Mike Sullivan playing Guentzel like he’s Gretzky … is a joke. Guentzel leads the team forwards with the most giveaways in the 3 games yet he demoted KFC who only had 2 turnovers in the first game none since then and in the 3rd KFC looked dangerous and only played 12 mins.
