No Bouchard is the right move. Hyman would have been there if he started the year off similarly to last year but he's shit the bed after a fantastic year last year.
Not taking PP1 from Makar and he doesn’t defend better than any of the others. Just doesn’t fit a team that doesn’t need an offensive defenceman

Wilson not making it over Marner and Hagel is a farce but other than that it's a better roster than I was expecting. Glad to see Jarvis, Bennett, and Konecny in. The three of them together would be an excellent line but I also wouldn't hate to see them each adding some jam to 3 separate lines

Hes a good player, but he doesn't dramatically increase Canadas chances of winning, and excluding him does not mean they're a worse off team.
I think he provides more options and dynamic value. You never know where the chemistry will be lacking when they hit the ice. Suzuki is a good insurance policy

I love the selections. After the superstars, they selected gritty high skilled players. Let’s f***ing go.

Not really any glaring omissions, in my opinion. A pretty predictable roster selection. Canada's achilles heel is in net. One of the weakest era for goalies Canada has had in my lifetime.

Myles Fee, a Canadian, is one of the assistant coaches for Sweden. If things go bad for you guys, then you have to cheer for Sweden. Because of Myles Fee.
Also get to cheer for Canadian citizen (as of 2016) Daniel Alfredsson as a Swedish coach.

Happy for Monty to make it. Sucks all my oilers but McD gor cut. Not surprised though.

As a Leaf fan, the only mistake is not adding Tom Wilson. Makes no sense. Offense and grit. Would make a monster 4th line with guys like Bennett, Marchand, or Cirelli.

Team Canada typically leans into defense and risk-free games so not surprised Bouchard didn't make the cut.

I would've taken Weegar or Tanev over Parayko though. They can do the same job defensively while being better at moving the puck.
You had me agreeing, all the way up to Tanev the puck mover.

I’d say Americans are the favourites

Bouchard is no good to this team if you don't have a powerplay to stick him on. Makar will get number 1 powerplay. He's a smart snub.
